i am very, very happy to say that i am no longer focusing on my WEIGHT LOSS. i have reached a turning point in my journey where i know i will reach my goal weight. i am currently under the 15 pound mark to reach my goal. i don't know how long it will take, and i do not care... but i know i will get there.
i want to turn my attention to the next thing i want to do, and that's getting strong. i want to know that my muscles, joints, and bones are strong.
what workout types/routines/styles/etc have you found to do this? i've thought about weight training and yoga/pilates. i'm willing to try different things until i find what works, but i thought i'd ask here since i know there are some pretty darn strong women in this group.

I love weight training. I would suggest joining a gym with classes. It’s the best way to work all of your muscles with a “trainer” helping you for no extra cost.
Yea, you can use the machines but without that help, I feel like I don’t see the results I want.
At my current gym, I take a belly, butt & thighs class that KICKS MY ASS each and every time. I leave there with my legs shaking. There’s also a chisel class that focuses on all upper body. Plus classes in between like kick boxing, Zumba and pound - which are a lot of fun w cardio.
The most important thing is you try a few things and find that drive you most.

this, I like to take classes but also do my own workouts sometimes (often doing some of the stuff I learned in the classes)

i was doing a boot-camp-type class at "the camp" that i was really liking. it really was making a difference. i only stopped to take a breather and spend some money on paying down debt. i'm almost at the point where i would feel comfortable including a "gym" line item in my budget again.
i was thinking of going back, but am giving it second thoughts because i always felt a bit rushed through the class. i'm enjoying working out alone because i can slow down and really concentrate on my form. the down side is that i don't get the same push as i do from being in a room of other people. so i'm hoping to find a balance.
i guess i will spend the spring shopping around and trying different classes and locations.
thanks for the info.

I am currently using the PWR program through the SWEAT App. It is a hypertrophic weight lifting program. There are also other options on the SWEAT App such as BBG (HIIT with body weight), Fierce (HIIT with weights), Build (powerlifting), and BAM (yoga). It's $120 for the year.
Before I started using the App, I followed people on IG and used their daily workouts as a guide for my own lifting.
