vent... people who don't follow instructions

it seems that the more formal education a person receives and the higher on the totem pole they are, the less they care to follow instructions.

oy!

it's gotten to the point that when i ask managers to give me information, i have to break it down to the most minute steps. and yet, they do something else.

i'm an admin, not your preschool teacher to walk you through every single step of learning the world.

if i ask for your information and that of your specialist, that is what i am asking for. i use short sentences. i give you bullet points of what is needed. so, don't get mad when i throw you under the bus for not providing complete information.

I hear you.

I’ve been at my current job six weeks and i want to cry. The quality of work I’m getting to review from people with PhDs is a mess. So I spend all of this time cleaning up their mess and then they get mad when I realize after it’s completed that the mess is even bigger.

I have to PULL information out of my fellow workers, including the boss. Granted, there is a language barrier thing, but still, I ask because I NEED something. Don't ask why, just answer the freaking questions.

I'm trying to wrap my head around this complex shipping scheme the trainee has come up with, I can't make heads or tails of it, yet I am going to be the one stuck handling it. Thankfully there is a meeting next week with some English speaking people that I hope can translate this thing.
