Thoughts on bringing a 3 year old? I loved it as a kid but I assume I was older than 3 since I remember going. I’m wondering if the drive is worth it. DD is fairly easy to occupy but 3 days of early America might be testing it.

Re: Colonial Williamsburg
I would say no way if that's the only place you're going.

Re: Colonial Williamsburg
Are you only bringing the 3 year old?
If it’s a younger sibling... go for it. Mine tags along to everything with her older siblings.
If you are doing it only for the 3 year old... it’s too long of a drive and def will be over his/her head. Try Mystic seaport that will have that feel but with little kid friendly areas and a shorter drive. There are other places like that on the Hudson (try corn festival or pirate festival around Tarrytown).

Just the 3 year old. We could add in Busch gardens but not sure if she’s too young for that. They have a Sesame Street section but she doesn’t like Sesame Street.
We’ve done Mystic and anything along the Hudson would be day trips.

Oh boy... I think it’s way too much for a 3 year old. You will have time to do trips like those. To put it in perspective... we just visited Boston with my kids (3, 7, and almost 9). My 9 year old really enjoyed the historical stuff (Boston tea party museum is interactive and great). The 7 year old was on the brink, my 3 year old just wanted to go to the playgrounds nearby.
If it were me and I wanted to do a short and educational trip... I would do Philly or Boston.
Cornucopia is awesome on the Hudson if you like that kind of stuff.

No, I wouldn't bring a 3yo there. I think it's more appropriate to middle school/high school kids who are studying it in school. It will mean something to them.
3yo...maybe Philly there's the Please Touch Museum and then swing back for Dutch Wonderland and/or Sesame Place?

Re: Colonial Williamsburg
We just brought our 3 year old - he loved Busch gardens but definitely not ready for the colonial Williamsburg - my older kids sort of enjoyed that.

Re: Colonial Williamsburg
I think my 9 year old is too young to appreciate it to be honest so... She'd probably be bored to tears

My parents took me a few times and I always loved it. They said they think I was about 4 when they first took me. DH also went and he enjoyed it. Maybe we were just weird kids?!
But I don’t think we’re going to go. It’s a long drive and I’m not sure I want to spent 4 days walking around in the heat with a 3 year old.
