3rd grade book to read to class

My son told me I can come in on his half birthday to his 3rd grade class and read. His birthday is over the summer so the teacher allows parents to come in on half birthdays if it's over the summer.
3rd grade is the last year I read so want to make it a good one. I like to do a "theme" that has to do with the month. My problem is since both my boys are summer kids I read a cute and funny summer theme book.
Any ideas to read Jan 8th. I have always done a 4th of July book or summer since his bday is July 8th,

I don't know about a theme, but this year I think DH and I are going to read Iggy Peck Architect and a few poems from Where the Sidewalk Ends to DS's class.

my son is in 3rd grade, too. The Legend of Rock Paper Scissors is a good one for that age... its not too long, but its also not too "young"... if you want a winter one, theres Jack Frost Vs. The Aboninamble Snowman. its cute because its kind of a "choose your ending"... on certain pages it says " if you want to follow jack, go to page 15, if you want to follow the snowman go to page 12" or whatever. so you could take a vote at those parts and involve the kids a little more...

The Legend of Rock Paper Scissors is AWESOME. A very fun book and you can do funny voices LOL

My dd loves "The Book with No Pictures". Its very silly and fun.
