Wedding in July?
My cousin is getting married in July. I have to travel upstate for the wedding. Haven’t heard anything about it being postponed. I wonder what things will look like by July....

Re: Wedding in July?
If Cuomo extended closures until May 15 and things look better at that time I would think he'd start "phase one" of reopening at that time, however non essential travel can only take place once you get to "phase two" and I'm really not sure how long each phase is.... so it is hard to say, non essential travel could be by July but dependent on when Cuomo starts to phase in re-opening.

Re: Wedding in July?
I think phase 2 I read was up to 50 people gatherings, so it may still be limited if it happens at all?
My wedding was supposed to be May 15 We rescheduled to summer next year, and I am hoping it even happens in a year!

Wedding in July?
You’ll be able to drive upstate - you could do that now if you wanted to. I think right now July is ify ‘. I think we might (hopefully) be seeing some things just starting to get to a place where that type of gathering is permissible.

Wedding in July?
My sister just postponed her mid-June wedding. I hope we are in stage 2 by then, but I still think large gatherings will not be permitted. If it is a small wedding, it might be okay.

Re: Wedding in July?
We postponed my son’s bar mitzvah from June 6, 2020 to May 2021. Even if things are “open” by mid May I just cannot see hosting a large party right now. I think they will say 50 person parties might be okay by July, but who knows at this point. I can understand why she is holding out hope though.

I think everything is going to remain shut down thru the summer and the thought of this depresses me immensely.

I don't they they are going to allow any large gatherings for some time. I wouldnt be suprised if it was until next year when the vaccine comes out.

Every state is different and will be rolling out the openings at their own rate. A state like VT may be open way before NY. I heard South Dakota never closed. I heard Minn is starting to open already.

Wedding in July?
I don't think everything will reopen in June, and most likely there will be no large gatherings allowed in the summer. But I do think some businesses, restaurants, stores will begin to reopen in June. A small wedding may be ok in July.

Yes, I am not seeing huge concerts and sports events happening but I can see some small businesses reopening with lessened capacity- like resturants etc. Weddings though - if they are big, prob not.

Re: Wedding in July?
I have a wedding in June that is still on and I suspect they are not letting her postpone it just yet. Mucho $$$ in Hamptons on a Sat night. Unless it gets cancelled by the catering hall, I don't think they are giving her a refund. I feel terrible for her. She has a shower in May and I think she is nuts for booking that.

VT has already closed its schools through the end of the school year- I think it is doubtful they will open way before NY.
I do not think we will be at the point of large gatherings by July. I think when we hit phase one things will initially be ok then see a surge in cases- my guess it it is going to take more than a few months to get back to a place where large social events can take place.

Agree. VT has several hotspots. In particular, Bennington, VT.

Yeah I had no idea about VT specifically. Just that other states are nowhere nearbas bad as Ny metro area and some others.
