Antibody testing?
So my parents went to City MD to get tested for Covid-19 anitbodies.
they both have them, however I am seeing on the results I printed out for them the test has not been approved by the FDA.
I tried to google to see what places would have the ones approved by the FDA but couldn't find it.
Would you still think that these are accurate tests from CityMd?
I am believing the results my parents got because my dad had it even though at the time they wouldn't approve him to go get tested for it  (he had all the symptoms except knowing 100% he was around someone who tested positive) he def. had it!!
Are there any places yet where you can go that have FDA approved test? are there really any out there yet? I did see one article last night that one just got approved but i couldn't find one where they say that others were approved.

Antibody testing?
I had an email from my pediatrician that the instant tests are not fda approved and can be inaccurate. They recommended doing the one that goes to a lab for processing...

Antibody testing?
Everything I have read is that the blood tests that take a few days to get results are more accurate than the finger prick tests. Quest has the full blood draw tests.

Thanks!! they both had blood drawn and it took a few days to get results so this makes me more confident.
I know its still unknown if they can get it again or not i will say I feel much better knowing they have the antibody.
my dad was pretty bad, thankfully didn't go to the hospital but it took him weeks to get better (though he just told me he apparently is showing signs of early emphysema so I am even more thankful he recovered on his own) and I was so nervous for my mom as she is considered immune compromised and looks like she had just mild case (she only developed a cough) .

Antibody testing?
Roche is what you want to look for. Apparently they are the ones right now that make a test that's 98 or 99% accurate.

I just read that they are counting the people that test positive for the antibodies as "new" cases. It think I read it in a patch article. Is that true? If that's the case, the number of new cases is never going to go down enough to reopen things.

who the hell knows anymore!! I havent read it but i wont be surprised if they use it as another excuse to not open.

who the hell knows anymore!! I havent read it but i wont be surprised if they use it as another excuse to not open.
I wouldn’t be surprised.

But those aren't 'new' cases.
Those are old cases that probably recovered with or without knowing they had it.
If they do that and use that to keep us locked down something needs to be done.

Yeah, exactly. So he won't "confirm" if they are being added to the new numbers. Which makes no sense. Why would they add them to the new numbers? Obviously these people aren't new cases. They use to have it and now they have the antibodies. Makes no sense.
