Well I voted my OBGYN but really she never calls me back with my results so maybe they arent actually running ANY tests on me

I have not have any major TTC testing done yet, but last year my OBGYN ran extensive blood testing with me and my free testosterone level was "off" and I was at that point referred to an RE for more blood work. Upon repeating the tests everything came back "normal"

I was also referred to the RE last winter becuse of a suspicion my OBGYN had about me having endometriosis, which was confirmed and removed by the RE

I am going to follow up currently with my GYN first before rushing back to the RE just yet

At first, my testing was done by my OB/GYN. He sent me for an HSG and we found out my tubes were blocked. He wanted to do a lap to see how bad the damage was and I agreed. He removed one tube and "repaired" the other. Then gave me Clomid to do with IUI's. He told me that the tube may close again within 6 months. I trusted him.

After the second IUI, and at my nagging mother's insistence , I went to an RE. He did an u/s and took one look at the screen and said that nothing would get through that tube, it is already closed and filled with fluid. How my OB/GYN didn't see this is beyond me What a waste.

Of course I didn't go to the right RE either but that is another story (why is my mother always right?!).

Ok, after all of this rambling, what I am trying to say is, PLEASE, PLEASE, do not waste time like I did!!!!! If you are having trouble TTC, go directly to an RE for testing!!! This is what they are there for, they are specialists!!! Do not be a guinea pig like I was!!!

My OB/GYN wanted to wait another 6 months before doing testing. RE started right away.

Lisa, That is horrible - what the OBGYN put you through. I'm so glad the RE was better.

I've decided that once I get the results and finish all of my testing, I am going to go to an RE.

My gyno did my endometrial biopsy.
My RE did my HSG.

I was just looking at the results, and can't believe how many women on here are trusting a gyn/ob to treat them for fertility.

I wonder if , we took this poll to the 'pregnancy' board....would we find different results....

well, my gyno started my testing, such as my EB, and semen analysis and did 2 cycles of IUI. When that was NOT successful, he referred me to my RE.

My GYN did a blood test and sent me for the HSG....when the HSG came back abnormal (I only have 1 tube), she sent me straight to an RE. The RE did an ultrasound to confirm the HSG...still only found 1 tube. RE also sent me for an IVP....only to find out I only have 1 kidney also
