Hofstra, I get what you are saying. My point is however though that IF we had done the RIGHT thing back in MARCH and did a COMPLETE 100% full country SEVERE and complete LOCK DOWN like Italy did, we would have been out of this in a month.

One month. That is ALL it would have taken for everyone to be locked in their homes with just their immediate family or whoever they live with.

But we didn't... because "America" and politics and WAYYYYYYY too many chiefs and ZERO planning and a bunch of idiot politicians.

So now here we are. And this is not going to go away. And I am ANGRY. I am DESPERATE for this to be over and I am NOT willing to quarantine forever. I just wish more people had taken this seriously to begin with because now, we have to face the consequences of selfish peoples actions.

THIS. and all those people in NYC who were told stay where you are and half of them traveled and the rates of corona spread in the areas they fled too. ridiculous. this is all too much. We should have had a one full month lockdown in FEB or Early March and this wouldn't be the severity it is now.

A Question for Those Willing to Quarantine for an Extended Period

We have been 100% quarantined with the exception of me going to work in the hospital. We get groceries delivered bi-weekly and I sanitize as they come in. I bring clothes to work, change into them, strip into a garbage bag and wash down, come home, sanitize my car and my belongs and then strip down again and everything goes into the washer. My shoes never enter the house, my work shoes stay in a container in my locker at work and I don’t see my family until I’ve showered. I soak my hair ties in hot soap long with my glasses when I get home. We haven’t been anywhere or seen anyone we stay home and stay in the yard. At best I go for a walk but I wear a mask and if my kids are with me the stroller awnings are down and I use a stroller covering. I’ll walk down a different block if I see people out or walking. Other than that we are isolated. It’s so tough but it’s tougher going to work and dealing with this. We are seeing spikes at work and as much as I want to see my family at a distance it’s just not the right time for us Chat Icon I can’t wait until this is over

Your screen name is freaking me out because I had almost the same one (off by one year) and it’s my nickname with my elementary school friends, lol.

Anyway, I agree with you for the most part. But I don’t see how we could have gotten out of this in a month. Where is that figure coming from? Italy was on strict lockdown for 2 months and they are slowly opening up now. Where I am has been on lockdown, not as strict as Italy, and we are starting to open up these next few weeks.

The hospital near me (Mather), posts all the time, and we were told by someone that works there that all of their floors used to be Covid floor except for one. Now they are down to one floor of COVID. I've heard the same thing about the other two hospitals in my area (that their number of patients are way down). That's a shame that it's rising where you work.

I work in one of the hospitals close to Mather. We have 10 covid units. Overall, we are substantially down from the original numbers. Our highest day was 649 covid patients, we are no where near that right now. We have seen increased and decreases, and some days there are spikes in numbers

I did not read all of the posts. I will just say some time in the next 2 months I am going to forgo all the social distancing, etc and juts start living normally. I cannot live like this for an extended period. I think it's unhealthy mentally for all of us and the risk of that to me might be greater than the risk of death. I am not ready to throw the towel in yet, will give it some more time but no, I won't do this for longer than one more month or two max.
