I was in the grocery store yesterday for my weekly shopping (wearing a mask). The aisles are all one way, and the spots to stand online are CLEARLY marked on the floor to keep everyone 6 feet apart. I was on line and the woman behind me was ON TOP of me.... like uncomfortably close for NORMAL times, forget social distancing. I turned around and looked at her, and she made eye contact and continued standing where she was. The person behind her was 12 feet away on their "marking", so she easily could have walked back to stand where she should have been. I tried moving forward a bit, but did not want to get too close to the person 6 feet in front of me, and she came WITH me. I turned around again and said "Do you mind please moving back? You are too standing too close." and she ignored me. I did not know what to do, and did not want to make a scene. I ended up checking out and leaving and came home and immediately took a shower.
What would you have done? I was really upset but did not want to be one of those people causing a scene.

Re: WWYD
ugh. I also don't like to create a scene. If i wasn't in a hurry, i probaby would have gotten of the line & gotten back on behind a normal person.

Ugh, I am not comfortable making a scene either. Maybe next time stand in front of your cart so you at least have that space between you.

ITA. Or stand on the side of the cart.
This happened to DH a few weeks ago. Luckily the woman behind the woman that was up his ass said something and the woman backed up.

I would have repeated myself louder. When it’s a potential matter of life Or death and people are idiots i have no problem causing a scene.

That's a great suggestion.
I don't speak up usually, but I give dirty looks to people. It used to work like a charm with my kids, but I've seem to have lost the touch.

Re: WWYD
I've actually had to tell someone to please back up to the line. Thankfully they apologizzed and did it. If not I think I would've said it again. If not response not really sure what I would've done. The cart idea is smart.
People are idiots
Did anyone see the woman the city in a small cafe or coffee shop that wasn't wearing a mask and another customer said something about it. The unmasked a*hole went over and coughed on the customer and some of the merchandise.
