Re: Back to School plans?
I haven't heard anything from my district yet, but could I just say that this sounds like a NIGHTMARE for the teachers!! How will they assist those students at home when they have half the class in school with them? And this is also really really hard for working parents.
There is no right answer that's going to make everyone happy. I'm having anxiety nightmares about the whole thing, TBH.

LOL i meant to post this on parenting- so i moved it. but yeah... the whole thing is nuts!! I mean i'm happy with the smaller groups, and no required masks- i do think that makes it safer. and i know this spring with remote learning, my 3rd graders teacher would like pre-record a lot of things, and just schedule it all to post on Google classroom at a certain time each day. So, really, she didn't do much, if any, "live" instruction. It wasn't like she had the kids sitting in front of Zoom while she tried to teacher. Which actually i think is good... they all get distracted anyway with stuff going on at home while they're on the chat. BUT she did meet with them every day on Google Meet, but she made it more of a 15 minute "check in, say hi" kind of thing for whichever students were around. she didn't try to do any actual teaching. AND she was available for questions on a messenger type thing (Go Guardian) so she was at least kind of able to help the kids or answer their questions while they were working. So... i don't know... I'm wondering if they'll have one teacher do the remote teaching stuff, and one teacher do the in-person stuff? but then thats like an unbalanced workload, and i'm sure the union wouldn't let that happen..... its all insanity!!!
