Imagine you won the powerball. Would you mail your ticket to collect your prize or take it in person? Now, ask yourself the same question about mail in ballots.
Considering that it’s safe and customary since practically the beginning of time to mail tax returns, stimulus checks, social security checks, prescription drugs, passports, drivers licenses..... voting by mail is safe.

Re: Trump wants to delay election
See, there *is* voter fraud....
https://www.washingtonpost.com/lifestyle/style/president-trump-tried-to-register-to-vote-in-florida-using-an-out-of-state-address/2020/06/03/687d0014-a4f2-11ea-b473-04905b1af82b_story.html?utm_campaign=wp_main&utm_medium=social&utm_source=twitter
President Trump originally tried to register to vote in Florida while claiming his “legal residence” was in another part of the country — Washington, D.C. — according to Florida elections records.
The September 2019 registration application listed Trump’s legal residence as 1600 Pennsylvania Ave. NW, the location of the White House. That created a potential problem for Trump: Florida law requires voters to be legal residents of the state. A month later, Trump resubmitted his application to use a Florida address and in March he voted by mail in Florida’s Republican primary.
The revisions complicate Trump’s own record as a voter at a time when the president has made unsubstantiated claims of widespread fraud in mail-in balloting.
Trump’s original voter-registration application, which was obtained by The Washington Post via a public records request, was filed during a time when the president was making a highly publicized move to change his permanent residence from his Manhattan penthouse to Mar-a-Lago, his private club in Palm Beach, Fla.
The voter application is dated Sept. 27, 2019 — the same day that Trump made the domicile change. On one of his forms that day he was telling Florida officials that his “legal residence” was Washington, D.C., and on another he was saying he was a “bona fide resident” of Palm Beach.

Absolute gaslighting. If you encourage a thousands-person rally in Tulsa, then you certainly support socially distanced an monitored elections at polling places. Voter suppression is a much bigger issue than voter fraud by mail. The nationals abroad, disabled, elderly and generally busy Americans have been voting via mail-in ballots for decades. In 2002, electronic voting was introduced via iPad. Millions of votes in the 2016 election were absentee ballots.
Seems so have dead people...soooo....
No... completely not true, and has been debunked so many times... yes, there are lots of dead people on the voter registration polls, but there is no evidence of any "dead people" actually submitting votes. The main study that everyone keeps pointing to "proving" that dead people vote actually proves that they don't...
https://www.factcheck.org/2016/10/trumps-bogus-voter-fraud-claims/
Trump claimed “people that have died 10 years ago are still voting,” citing a report that found 1.8 million deceased people remain on voter registration rolls. But the report did not find evidence of wrongdoing, and numerous studies have found such voter fraud is virtually nonexistent.

Do you would have something extremely important like a powerball ticket, you would mail that and trust the postal service? You’ve never had a problem with the post office? Consider yourself lucky then as many, many, many have.

Untrue and I can tell you that in NYS anyone can vote under anyone’s name as there is no ID required.

ITA. I don’t get how anyone would not think there is voter fraud by not making people show their ID.

I always wondered about the ID thing. I found it odd that you didn't have to show any proof. So if my mom passed away, and I knew where she usually voted, I could go there, sign her name in that old school ledger and vote under her name ? Do they even compare signatures? I feel like when I vote, they don't really look much at the signatures

Probably as when we went last time my daughter was right there with our names and I said she could have voted more than once as she was in another state and I could have come back and voted under her name too.

Both Conservative and Liberal leaning studies have been done over the years trying to prove or disprove voter fraud, and it just doesn't exist. There are quite a few well documented studies over many years, in various formats, and run by numerous agencies. Nobody has found any legitimate fraud. 35 cases out of 800 million votes is not "widespread fraud".
And anecdotal "evidence" doesn't count. I have been looking for studies that show fraud, and I just can't find any.
I did find anecdotal "evidence" that the only voter fraud I have heard of personally is by the President.

Again I saw how it could happen right in front of my eyes. Next time, as morbid as it sounds, look up someone you know passed in the registry and see if they are in it. You seem to be a very trusting person which is great but this world unfortunately have too many that are not.

It *could* happen, but it didn't. Just like the hundreds of millions of times that it didn't. I trust all of the studies and reports that show that fraud doesn't happen, even the Conservative led reports and studies.
Anything *could* happen, but if we focus on the infinite number of things that don't happen, but *could*, we wouldn't be able to function.
No matter what, there will ALWAYS be dead people on the voter registry. People die every day. It's impossible to have the printed registry updated in real-time. Just like there will be wrong addresses because every day, people move.

Re: Trump wants to delay election
NY Post Over 80,000 mail-in ballots disqualified in NYC primary mess
The mail-in ballots of more than 84,000 New York City Democrats who sought to vote in the presidential primary were disqualified, according to new figures released by the Board of Elections.
The city BOE received 403,103 mail-in ballots for the June 23 Democratic presidential primary.
But the certified results released Wednesday revealed that only 318,995 mail-in ballots were counted.
That means 84,108 ballots were not counted or invalidated — 21 percent of the total.
One out of four mail-in ballots were disqualified for arriving late, lacking a postmark or failing to include a voter’s signature, or other defects. The Post reported Tuesday that roughly 30,000 mail-in ballots were invalidated in Brooklyn alone.
The high invalidation rate provides more proof that election officials and the Postal Service were woefully underprepared to handle and process the avalanche of mail-in ballots that voters were encouraged to fill out to avoid having to go to the polls during the coronavirus pandemic, critics said.
The mess included votes not being counted because the pre-paid ballot envelopes were not postmarked.
Aside from tardy mailings and processing, Schwartz said scores of ballots were tossed out because the voters failed to sign the interior envelope that came with it.

I know MANY people who STILL have not gone oiut since quarantine in March. Who are you to say they need to go vote in person?? Every American has a constitutional right to vote and in the 21st century it's absolutely archaic to ONLY expect people to show up to vote. There are so many other ways to get it done.
Plus, in low income areas, rural areas, etc they purposefully make it difficult to vote by limiting polling places. Vote4 suppression is real. You are clueless.

You literally said, "there is no reason for mail in voting" which implies you expect everyone to go out and vote regardless of their situation.
I'll be at my polling site with bells on to ensure my vote is cast to get that corrupt b@&tard out of office.

No there is not for people who CAN and WANT to vote in person. I wish in NY they would ask for ID though. That is really my main concern.

I'll be at my polling site with bells on to ensure my vote is cast to get that corrupt b@&tard out of office.
No there is not for people who CAN and WANT to vote in person. I wish in NY they would ask for ID though. That is really my main concern.
Then go to court and change that. Voter ID laws are discriminatory. You should know that, no?

I know MANY people who STILL have not gone oiut since quarantine in March. Who are you to say they need to go vote in person?? Every American has a constitutional right to vote and in the 21st century it's absolutely archaic to ONLY expect people to show up to vote. There are so many other ways to get it done.
Plus, in low income areas, rural areas, etc they purposefully make it difficult to vote by limiting polling places. Vote4 suppression is real. You are clueless.
Where did I say anybody else needs to go out and vote? I said there is no reason we can’t but I am well aware many do mail in’s and know ones who do. I don’t and won’t mail in no matter who I vote for. I want it in person as if I can go and shop I can go and vote.
You literally said, "there is no reason for mail in voting" which implies you expect everyone to go out and vote regardless of their situation.

They are fighting to change it in NY already. It had not been achieved yet and I am sure not in this election either.
