How do they plan to enforce it?
One of the bills that was proposed in NYS last year to mandate the flu shot (around the time of the religious exemption removal) stated that you wouldn't be able to renew your drivers license or state issued ID card without providing proof of the flu shot. Pretty much the same way you would mail the proof for the mandatory eye test. Not sure if it was a bill that ever went to a vote or if it just died out. So, I'm guessing that's how they will attempt to mandate the one for covid.
So you renew your license what, every 5 years? So you'd only have to get the flu shot when you needed to renew a licence?
Doesn't seem to be very effective.
But then again, neither is the flu shot so.....
Once every 8 years I think. Licenses are valid for a long time. There was a guy, a rep from LI I think (it's been a while since I looked into it so I don't recall his name) but he wanted the bill to include wording that would make it impossible to conduct any sort of state business without having immunization proof on file. So any DMV transaction, business licensing, taxes, etc. That was never added to the bill of course. I don't know how that would even be feasible. Some of the proposed bills on the NYS website really make me 
I don't get why they are hell bent on mandating the flu shot. Covid, ok I can see that. It's new, it's more deadly, there isn't a good treatment yet.
But flu? I know people die of flu. But they do have effective treatments. If you want to get the flu shot or are high risk you absolutely should. I do give it to my daughter since she was old enough to have it.
But to mandate it like it's polio or something -I don't know.

See the covid vaccine almost bothers me more - SO many people who test positive are asymptomatic or have mild symptoms - and we don’t even know if it’ll be seasonal/recurring or just die out. Plus the average of death from covid in my state is 84. Yes, 84. As in, higher than human life expectancy... having said that I’m generally pro vax and get the flu shot every year. I’m just not a fan of this one being mandated.

Trust me, I 100% agree with you. I have zero desire to get that vaccine.
But in terms of mandating things - i can see that MAYBE more than the flu shot.
But like you, I am hoping they don't mandate any of these.

That being said, it isn't a hard no. I would definitely do my due diligence and research first. I worry that it will be mandated for kids to go to school, and that seems unconstitutional.
Assuming the same exemptions are in place, why would it be unconstitutional when other vaccines are required for children to attend public school?
I understand being hesitant about getting a new vaccine without knowing the long term effects. At the same time, we don’t know the long term effects of COVID either and there’s evidence that even milder cases can cause longer term symptoms and/or damage to various organs. I see a lot of comments about the high survival rate, but it isn’t just about surviving. People, including those with no underlying conditions, can have permanent damage from this disease. I personally find that to be more frightening than a vaccine that will undergo various clinical trials.

This. What makes anyone believe the long term effects of this vaccine are any better than the long term effects of the virus itself? We have no long term data on either. Either way your family is involved in an "experiment "

For me, I'll follow the way of those with the most education and training in science, anatomy, medicine, epidemiology, etc. If most of those people take the vaccine, so will we. If the scientific and medical communities reject it, so will we.
As for the risks, we would undoubtedly be better off if this disease were never unleashed. But assuming the experts and scientific community endorse and give their kids a vaccine, I will operate under the premise that I rather have it be human body versus weakened disease mixed up by those who understand what the human body will and won't be harmed by, than human body versus full strength disease as found in nature.
Only other choice is to keep up restrictions, and I love and miss my family's old life and our old world so much!

Let's just hope it's more effective than the flu shot, or we'll still be locked up regardless of a vaccine.
