Video or Audio only Team/Zoom meetings?
If you are working remotely, are most of your team/zoom meetings video/audio or audio only? I feel like with most people in our department it is only audio. But when we have meetings with people from other groups or locations in other states they use video.
I prefer just audio, but it is nice to see my coworkers once in awhile. Even though I love being home I do miss seeing them.

Re: Video or Audio only Team/Zoom meetings?
I only use audio. I disabled my camera internally and I say it's "broken". I also have a stick on cover over the camera god forbid it should have accidentally turned on before I "broke" it. There is zero need for anyone to see me. It contributes nothing to the meeting
In the very beginning, some of my team were turning on their cameras, but that got old fast. Now nobody turns it on anymore I didn't need to see my boss's double chin in his lazy boy, or my co-workers dog in the background.

It depends on how I look. If I look like a hot mess at that moment, then audio only

Video or Audio only Team/Zoom meetings?
I have a daily meeting, every afternoon, that everyone uses video. It's kind of annoying because I feel like I have to look at least semi-decent every afternoon! lol. Most of my other meetings (with other departments), most people do audio only, but it can be mixed. If I've already gotten ready for my daily meeting, I might use video - depends on how involved I have to be. If I am a lead or will be very involved in speaking, I usually prefer to do video. If I am just listening for the most part, I'll just use audio

We do a daily morning with my immediate team of 4. 1 always just calls in. We have a larger team meeting that everyone is required to do video and then another weekly meeting where its a mix.

All of my internal meetings are video - I like to see everyone, and we were a pretty casual workplace even when we went to the office, so there is no pressure to get made up.
Client meetings are a mix - daily stuff is audio, but we have a video meeting once a week that I do need to look more presentable for.

My DH’s job is audio only. They said that their servers can not handle everyone on video.
For my Large faculty meetings, most people do audio only. For smaller subject groups, people do video.

The only thing video adds is 10 lbs and 10 years.

Video, always. It is seriously frowned upon to not have the video on where I work.
My hair and makeup are done every single day....

I actually found it distracting- especially if it was someone I didn't know. ( a consultant, a sales rep, etc) I'd be looking all around their room. I usually did my hair & makeup anyway, but I didn't have a good setup- the lighting was terrible in my home office unless it was eally sunny & my background was cluttered because that room had become our dumping ground.
I only used video if other people did first. Our NY office meeting was audio only, but when I was laid off we did have a video call as a goodbye party, which was nice.
I will probably have to go on camera if have video interviews-I will have to kick my husband out of the dining room so I can set up better lighting. That was the spot I sued to use when I had calls with my old boss who was in the UK office and i happened to be working form home. I was ok with that because he had never met half the people reporting to him.

Re: Video or Audio only Team/Zoom meetings?
When I teach, I obviously use both. I pretty much always have video on in meetings, but I usually turn my audio off (unless I'm speaking, of course lol) to reduce background noise.
The only time I might turn both off is when I'm in large-scales sessions that are lecture-based and available school-wide. For example, I took a couple of sessions over the summer, and they were lectures about how to bolster online classes. I turned my audio and video off since no participation was required on my part; I was listening and taking notes.
