Which Chromebook should I buy?
Looking to buy 2 Chromebooks for my kids.
Chromebook A: 32G 1 year warranty $269.99 each I have a $200 GC so total out of pocket would be $339.98
Chromebook B - Same as Chromebook A except: 64G 2 year warranty Free technical support includes wireless mouse $299.99 each Total out of pocket $651.73
Is it worth paying more for 64G, mouse and extended warranty?

Are they touch screen? Not a big deal for my third grader but for my first grader it's a huge help to have that. We just got a second hp chromebook for 299 at best buy bc the other half dozen devices weren't connecting reliably.

Re: Which Chromebook should I buy?
how much stuff do you plan on saving? That seems to be the biggest difference besides the support. for $30 extra I would probably get the bigger size.
However when i was shopping for a Chromebook (i was not looking to spend a lot at all it was just a fun xmas present and glad I didn't because she now wants an actual laptop ) i was more concerned about the auto update policy.
After a while they are no longer supported and cant get the latest OS and browser updates. No idea if it was that big of deal but I made sure to not buy any that expired in 2 years or less.
You can look up the expirations here : Auto Update Policy

I think 32 G is enough. Are you planning on downloading a lot of apps on it? If it is for schoolwork only, Chromebooks often don't need much storage, and that's likely all you'll need at this stage, because everything will probably be in a Google drive.

For a $30 difference - option 2 sounds better. Unless there really isn't much you would use your gift card for at the store for your first option, I would pick option 2.

They will be using it a little for school, some homework since they are going 5 days a week for now. Obviously, they would need it more in the event we go back to remote.
Probably download a few apps like youtube, netflix, etc. I'm not going to allow them to download games on it, they have other devices for that.

They won't be able to download much with either of those options for storage.
