Restaurants on Long Island With Outdoor Dining Igloos, etc.
I know of American Beech in Greenport with the Casitas, and Gurney's. Anyone know of other places similar to theirs, with decor inside, etc?

ITA Kitchen in Bayshore has Igloos and Greenhouses. The Igloos are $150 for 2 hours and the Greenhouses are $125. I belong to a dining group on Facebook that has an extensive list of this. If you want to join it, it's Dine-LI group It's great for recommendations and reviews

Is the $150 only for staying in the igloo or food and drinks are included?

Yes I'm thinking more for a birthday party or bachelorette type thing. Not for like a normal Saturday night out with only a few people.

I know of a lot of restaurants that have the igloos or greenhouses, but none that are decorated inside. A few:
317 Main in Farmingdale Andreas 25 in Commack Harbor Mist in cold Spring Harbor

These are popping up all over by me and I don't think there's a charge? We ate in a greenhouse at the local diner and just paid for our food. That's INSANE.

Yep. And last year they had these at another restaurant near me and they were charging something similar. I know they have limited Igloos and everyone wants to sit in them, so I guess rather than just let you reserve them when you make your reservation they figured they would cash in on it. I would never ever pay that to sit and eat. But the funny thing is they are booked every slot every weekend. They do let you sit in them for free during the week I believe. The charging is only for Friday and Saturday nights.

Many of the cozy and cute ones do charge a fee. But they are decorated nicely, some have fires etc. I wanted the Greens in NYC, but I waited too long since it's now booked up

Just an FYI, they only charge the fee on weekends, not weekday

We did not pay any charge for igloo at Andreas25 but had a two hour limit for dinner. Inside was a nicely decorated table, Bluetooth speaker and a heater. Great food, highly recommend

Are these those plastic round tents I see outside of some restaurants? Why are they in such high demand, are people just afraid to eat in the restaurant due to Covid? I thought they looked silly and I wouldn't want to eat in one.

Well last year, pre-Covid, they were getting popular. I feel like it was the new trendy Instagram worthy thing to do. All for the 'gram!
Now this year, restaurants are using it to increase their outdoor space with the indoor capacity limitations. And yes, some people feel better eating in them but imo they aren't much better than inside and probably worse because at least inside you have HEPA systems -in those you are in a hot plastic bubble of floating germs with no air filtration. :hah But I guess if it's just your party in it, you aren't eating amongst strangers and supposedly they fog sanitize them between uses.

Yup, the ones I've seen are single party and also have an opening, so fresh air is floating in/out.
I will not eat inside a restaurant but would eat in one of these.
And yes, some of them are super cute!

Just to update, the Three Village Inn also has one! Looks super cute. Ate there for Dinner last night, but didn't know about the Igloo prior to so ate inside. $150, includes round of drinks for 6 people. It was a cozy and cutely decorated one. The appeal is that it's something different and nice to do. At least for me!

They were trendy but now it’s a necessity for restaurants to survive. They are all over Nj especially since Murphy announced no bar seating and reduced indoor capacity further. I don’t even think we made it to 50%.
