Post Covid Lungs
https://www.cbsnews.com/news/covid-lungs-worse-smokers-lungs/
This article says that the post covid Lungs are worse than long term smokers even in asymptomatic patients and that may cause long term problems. I wonder if they have taken x-rays of children who were asymptomatic and I wonder how this will affect their lungs develop as the grow

Post Covid Lungs
These are the things that concern me. It seems like Covid causes mid and long-term damage to various organs. Of course, they won't know if things will clear up after a while until "a while" passes.

Yes. This is what scares the hell out of me too, the long term effects. Which is why I don't understand why people STILL don't get it! Wear a mask, Social distance and stay the F2ck home unless you need to go to work or the store . Stop the socializing until we have a handle on this.

I have gone to the doc and dentist because I had to, but I’m right there with you.
I heard that the flu cases are way down due to masks and measures. I think that’s great. Masks help.

Post Covid Lungs
That's what frustrated me about my mom. She's in FL and I was telling her to be careful, but her response was "If it's my time to go, then so be it." (Even though she's only 73.) But I reminded her that it's not just about life or death - it could be her living with debilitating side effects the rest of her life, or having to learn how to walk again, etc.
I just don't understand why people don't get it.

This is my fear as well. I get the first dose of the vaccine on Wednesday.
At this point, I go to work and the grocery store (at 6:30 am). My son goes to school. My husband leaves the house for his daily run and to do drop off and pick up. The infection rate in my area is too high to do anything that is not essential. The numbers here are worse than they were when Cuomo shut everything down in the Spring.

My son has to quarantine because someone is his class got it. When I told my PARENTS they said they can watch him if I have to go to work. I said um, he has to QUARANTINE. They just don't care

Same! My parents are cautious in terms of not going to the store, wearing their masks, limiting their socializing, etc. but when it comes to my kids? They don't care! I stayed home this week because my kids may have been exposed and my parents were like "Don't do that! We'll babysit!" um....no.

First off, the state of Florida is their one special kind of breed. My aunt says the same thing and she cares for my elderly grandfather who just had surgery. Everybody in my family who live in Fl, is out living their best life.
Secondly, I feel like most elderly people just don’t give at.
But then it I think about when I’m older, I may be the same. Think about that MEME about 80s babies living through - two recessions, AIDS & Crack Epidemic, Ebola, swine flu, terrorist attacks, pandemic, and NOW freaking an almost civil war.
I think if there is a doomsday or pandemic when in my 70’s, I’m 100% positive I’d be like “Fuk it” just take me if you want me.

Re: Post Covid Lungs
I will say that my friend who is a nurse, showed me x-rays of lungs after Covid. This was back in April and she said it was insane what the virus did to the lung. She and other medical staff at the hospital thought it was man made virus because of the what they were seeing happen with the patients lungs.

This was a person who was healthy, non smoking, exercised regularly. She couldn’t believe it and took the pic.
I wonder if our treatment plan needs to be better. Or if having this virus linger in your system increases long term effects. I do think the vaccine is extremely important but I do think we need to spend more money and research on better courses of treatment. Right now, if you don’t require hospitalization, you are required to quarantine and sit at home. Yes you don’t have “bad” symptoms for the hospital but this crazy mutating virus is still running rampant in your body for x amount of days. I also know people who were testing positive after 10days. Yes it’s not contagious but it’s still active in your body.
