Obscene phone calls
This morning I got an obscene phone call. They called twice. When I called the number back it's out of service, says something like the caller is unavailable. Is there anything I can do about this?

I would just block the number as I don’t think there is anything else you can do if you can’t tell who called.

Sadly there is a way now to call people and have a fake phone number appear. There is no way to trace the call and not much you can do as far as I'm aware. Block the number and hope they're not insistent because they can just keep changing the number. I just wouldn't answer the phone. Good luck, sorry you're dealing with this.

Ugh. Thank you. I hope it doesn't keep up. I dont normally answer the calls but today is my 40th bday and it was 7 am so I thought maybe it's someone I wanna talk to. I did block the number...

Obscene phone calls
Before cell phones, we would blow a whistle into the phone. It's really loud and hurts their ears. Always stopped them from calling back.

Ewww, so creepy. I feel like you don't hear about obscene phone calls like that anymore. Like they were big in the 70s.
Now all I get is people calling me about my car's warranty!

I’m sorry that happened to you. I can kind of relate about how disturbing it can make you feel.
One time while visiting my family the phone rang at 3.30AM. I picked it up because I thought maybe it was an emergency. It wasn’t too pornographic in theory. It was more covert. It was something about being wrapped up like a pretzel or something. I kind of blocked it out of my mind. The the sound of the voice and what he was implying was freaky. Of course, I couldn’t sleep the rest of the night and I just felt like someone was in the house or something.

Right?! My first thought when reading op's post was "people still do that??" Idk why I just assumed in the internet age perverts just gave up on calling people.
It's nonstop with the car warranty calls lol I stopped answering any number I don't know and block every incoming number. Bless their relentless persistence though to keep trying even though no one ever answers. We should all have that kind of drive and work ethic
