Overall, the vaccine looked like it was doing what it was supposed to in preventing more severe infection, but that vaccine also has a lower efficacy rate.
I agree that maybe we shouldn’t rush into lifting mask restrictions yet until more people are vaccinated and we have a better idea of whether the virus, especially certain newer variants, can be spread among vaccinated individuals.
The problem is we are not testing vaccinated people for Covid or antibodies. I guarantee if you tested a large portion of vaccinated people there would be some who have Covid and some who no longer have antibodies.
Why don’t some of the healthy asymptotic people go randomly get tested for Covid or antibodies before attending a large event and report back your results. I’m curious. Since the scientists aren’t doing this....at least I haven’t seen or heard a single person locally who has been asked to be part of any studies.

I know someone working on the Moderna trial. They are checking these things and continuing to collect data.

Masks need to go for everyone. I posted on the politics board.
We don’t know if those who were vaccinated in December and January currently have antibodies. There apparently is no test for the public to find out if they are covered. So they could all be walking around and contract Covid and get it pretty bad. And we all know that even vaccinated people can spread Covid. With the infection rate so low it’s time to phase into some normalcy for everyone who wants to remove their mask. From what I hear a lot of people will continue to wear masks anyways. But let people decide what they are comfortable doing.

There is no protocol for EVERY person to be tested for vaccine antibodies however, those who have been ACTUAL participants in the vaccine research studies from the get go most surely have been tested and will continue to be. That's how we learn. That's how science and research works.
The FACT is, the more months that pass, the longer the protection seems to be. There is no real reason to think that the vaccine antibodies won't last months to a year or even longer. Scientists will continue to study the vaccine and adjust recommendations as necessary based on the research. I'm not sure what world you live in where you think medicine/vaccines are simply decided on a whim as opposed to following actual, real life data to drive decisions.
Whether you choose to believe it or not, the DATA so far points to the vaccine being both effective and safe up to this point. And before you rattle off about the potential long terms risks of a vaccine made from components that have long been studied over the years, COVID itself carries the VERY real risk of long term health effects, some debilitating. It's a matter of which risk you're more comfortable with.
Don't take the vaccine, that's your choice. But continually mocking science and the entire medical community just makes you look foolish and shows your lack of knowledge about the vaccine itself.

Vaccinated people can skip the masks because the remaining people who have not yet been vaccinated need to be incentivized to get the vaccine. Plain and simple. If not, they would allow people who have recently recovered from covid and/or tested positive for antibodies lose the mask as well.

Currently, the vaccine has been shown to be effective for AT LEAST 6 months. Even those who got the vaccine in December would not have been fully vaccinated until January. We are not 6 months past that. I am sure they will update guidance within the next month as additional data comes in from the trial.

Plus I can’t stand the stupidity of some people who think they are immune to Covid now and can’t spread it. People seriously got a vaccine that they don’t understand.

This is no longer follow the science and trust the science. This is causing turmoil and causing a great divide. How can this “science” be so easily manipulated? How can this science apply to people so differently? How does science know when it’s being threatened with a lawsuit? This is whatever fits their narrative and right now it’s a push to try and force people who have no desire to get a vaccine that isn’t going to help them. At this point, those who choose not to get vaccinated are choosing this bc they are low risk (with the exception of those who medically can not). Until science can without a doubt prove that the vaccine will prevent the transmission of Covid (just as other vaccines do) I see no need to have a different set of rules for people.

It’s useless- people with the vaccine can still get and give Covid so a mask mandate for those who did not get it is a double standard and discrimination.
Look at it this way: we’ve been drinking, we both get pulled over, the cop asks what you drank, you say beer, he gives you a warning and let’s you leave. The cop that pulled me over asked the same question but I say wine and I’m charged with a DWI... double standard. We are both equally at risk. It’s not about science. It’s about control and money, always has been. Don’t think so? cuomo made 5 million (book alone) for killing 16000 people. Masks off- it’s over.

It’s useless- people with the vaccine can still get and give Covid so a mask mandate for those who did not get it is a double standard and discrimination.
Look at it this way: we’ve been drinking, we both get pulled over, the cop asks what you drank, you say beer, he gives you a warning and let’s you leave. The cop that pulled me over asked the same question but I say wine and I’m charged with a DWI... double standard. We are both equally at risk. It’s not about science. It’s about control and money, always has been. Don’t think so? cuomo made 5 million (book alone) for killing 16000 people. Masks off- it’s over.
That analogy is wrong though. The difference is that those with a vaccine, while still may be able to catch it, will be less ill and most likely will not need to be in the hospital. The whole point of quarantining and mask wearing was not to get us in the position that we were in last year, overrunning the hospitals.
A more appropriate drinking analogy would be that you were both drinking, one had 1 drink and one had 5 drinks. The person who drank 1 was not given the DWI.
I am all for no masks, but I am pro vaccine.

I don’t know if your first sentence is a joke or not?
I don’t understand this analogy? AFAIK they take a breathalyzer. From there it can either be a DUI or DWI. It has nothing to do with what you have drunk but about your BAC.

Was thinking the same thing. Then was wondering if the same people even own this site. The security certificate is expired and it comes up as "connection not secure." Does anyone know who owns this site?

As was clarified a few posts above it is contempt for the CDC and the illogical guidance. Not people who wear masks or are vaccinated.
This is no longer follow the science and trust the science. This is causing turmoil and causing a great divide. How can this “science” be so easily manipulated? How can this science apply to people so differently? How does science know when it’s being threatened with a lawsuit? This is whatever fits their narrative and right now it’s a push to try and force people who have no desire to get a vaccine that isn’t going to help them. At this point, those who choose not to get vaccinated are choosing this bc they are low risk (with the exception of those who medically can not). Until science can without a doubt prove that the vaccine will prevent the transmission of Covid (just as other vaccines do) I see no need to have a different set of rules for people.
There has been a divide between vaccinated and unvaccinated for quite some time, way before covid thanks to Big Pharma but since covid and the birth of these new “vaccines”, that gap has been getting wider and wider.

Well I have messaged at least a dozen times or more and have never received an email. Somehow, someone can still get people kicked off though. Wouldn’t put it past anyone who is versed in IT that knows how to do that.

Just to annoy you.
You currently have antibodies and have your first shot and are still wearing a mask. You’ve been cautious all year and still managed to get Covid.
Why would I take any advice from you?
