Camp rude here too. I likely wouldn't think twice about blocking my nose in bed if i had a tissue near.

Personally, I'd probably blow my nose in the bathroom if I was getting up anyway.

I'm a light sleeper too. When DH gets out of bed it almost always wakes me up. And I would hear the sound of blowing a nose in the bathroom (which is right next door). So I wouldn't be specifically offended if he did it in bed. Because I'd have been woken up either way. So basically, I understand where your DH was coming from.
