Poor eye tracking
Does anyone have a child who has poor eye tracking? What were some signs/symptoms that you noticed?
My son reads at grade level but has always been a struggling reader. He has finally been reading something other than graphic novels and I notice he can not track the words very well. He skips right over easy words and phrases (the, it, etc). My husband thinks he’s just rushing but I think there might be more to it.
If anyone has any insight into poor eye tracking, please let me know.
Thank you!

Poor eye tracking
You can get training in visual tracking. Ask the school to evaluate him for reading and OT. I believe it is usually done through the OT department.

Re: Poor eye tracking
My LO had poor tracking. His eyes weren't teaming together (although they are alligned). He also has 20/20 vision. Looking back... he always hated to read (also reading on grade level), clumsy, didn't like to color, write, etc. He did 10 months of vision therapy and he's a different kid.
Tracking is an easy fix with consistant exercises, but I can tell you from living the dream (and doing a ton of research) most times there's more eye issues than just tracking. Most times it's a convergence issue.
How old is your son? Ask him if he sees blurry, do words move on page, etc?
PM with any questions.
