"THE ITCH"
Ugh...we are planning to start our family aug/sep 2007, but I don't want to wait anymore! I'm just so excited to get started! We have things we need to work out with the new house and I want to get some more post grad credits under my belt, but I'm getting antsy! How can I push this feeling away?

Re: "THE ITCH"
I totalllyyyyy know the feeling... and my best friend is preggo so that is making it worse!
I know I would be wayyyyy overhelmed right now if I was pregnant and we are still settling in the house etc...
BUT, it is exciting and hard to wait!

Re: "THE ITCH"
watch out for the itch if you really are trying to wait!
we are PG and it was a complete surprise b/c we'd decided to wait a year...well, that's out the window now! i had been very "itchy" but had calmed down some and realized how simple things could be for a while if i waited...well...my poor ovary was attacked one night by his mean sperm...and the rest is history!

Re: "THE ITCH"
I totally have the itch but I think DH has it worse. He said to me the other day "I'm getting somebody pregnant...I'd like it to be you, but if not, it will be someone". I just want to wait until we are settled in our new condo a little more and I am done with my dissertation...but I think about it always!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Re: "THE ITCH"
Well, I'm glad to know I"m not the only one! I told DH I have the itch tonight and he said "soon, hunny, soon". We are both excited but trying to stick to our "plan". I'm still on the pill so I think we're pretty safe for now. I wouldn't mind though if it happened a couple months earlier than originally planned though

Re: "THE ITCH"
I know how you feel. We decided we were going to start TTCing in the summer of 2007, but I keep feeling like I want to start sooner. I think he wants to feel more settled first. I do hear him saying "I want one" now when he sees little kids though, so who knows?

when i see babies i get the itch but i have more reason not to right now then i do of wanting right now..
we still would like to go on vacation a nd do things on the weekends with our friends. still have some fun because once you start a family its not about us anymore its about that baby and out biggest concern is a house right now.

Re: "THE ITCH"
Good luck with putting it out of your mind!!!! ... at least I couldn't do it.
First we thought we'd try later next year, than earlier next year, and now we are... well not trying, but not NOT trying.
That made me feel better...

Re: "THE ITCH"
Wow, I am so glad I am not the only one! It's so wierd because I want to start our familiy, but we have all these things we want to do first. Then we had a scare last month and I honestly was a little let down to find out I wasn't. It's such a strange feeling to want it, but not want it at the same time. And all this led to a little "ooops" so we will see what happens this month

Yes.. I know what you mean about wanting/not wanting.. I mean I dont have tenure and Im finishing my masters, we JUST moved into our house and are still remoldeling, just got married etc. But I have been with DH for almost 8 years and now that we are finally married, the thought of a little one that we created together is just so heart-warming.
I KNOW it is best we wait a bit, but I can't help thinking about it, expecially with my BF pregnant! I could give a million reasons why we shouldnt have a baby right now, yet somehow I know if I got PG by accident I would still be thrilled.

Re: "THE ITCH"
I feel like I've had the "itch" FOREVER! DH and I are already married a year, have a house, and have a dog. I am sooooo ready to expand our family.
DH says we need to wait till '08 but I cannot hold out that long!!!
Funny this subject came up because I was thinking about it this morning on my car ride to work. I decided I was going to tell him in April I'm ending BCP and "whatever happens, happens".
Let's see how he likes that idea!

Re: "THE ITCH"
I definitely have the itch, but we are nowhere new aready for parenthood.
It helps that we have a few friends who just had babies and I'm lending a hand to my friend Jen who has 4 week old twins and a 23 month old. I figure I'll live vicariously through them until DH and I are ready.

Re: "THE ITCH"
I am so with you all on this. I have the itch BIG TIME. But, DH thinks we should wait. I hear him on that, since we really need to get everything together. We have been married for 5 months and still need to get settled. But, I really can not wait to have a baby.
I try to get it out of my mind, but always keeps popping up.
