Re: Xmas shopping?

DH & I have posted our lists on the fridge ... and I attempted to buy him some basketball shorts to get them out of the way (they could also be used as birthday presents) because the other thing on his list needs to be custom ordered so I need him to give me that info.

Anyway, couldn't find the stupid shorts anywhere.

I am almost finished...I'd say about 2/3 of the way.

I got a lot done this weekend and now don't have anymore shopping to do until November (I set a budget and timeline...I am such a nerd)

Re: Xmas shopping?

We bought hockey tickets for my in-laws, because games sell out early, and DH and I got each other concert tickets as our big gift but that's the only gift buying we'll be doing until after Thanksgiving.

iI am probably half way done CHRISTmas shopping.

Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon I love when people put the "Christ" in CHRISTmas!!! Chat Icon

Me too Chat Icon

I cringe when i see "xmas". Talk about negating the whole meaning by eliminating christ. Although I know no harm is meant by it..just a pet peeve of mine!

In case anyone was wondering

this is an argument on here every year no? I like to spell out Christ, but apparently there is no harm or disrespect in doing otherwise.

That info was very interesting! I didn't know that myself...

However...I don't think most people realize that the "x" has been used because it's the first greek letter of "christ". I think the majority of people write "xmas" because, like myself, they think it's the easy way to write out the word...

I don't think people write xmas in a malicious manner ...but I do like to see the word written out. It just seems nicer I guess!?

But thanks again for posting, interesting to know!!

Re: Xmas shopping?

I'm done with Xmas shopping, and I actually spent yesterday wrapping all the gifts.

I may get a few more odds and ends gifts for the parents and DH, but overall, we're done.

THANK GOD!
