My son Nicholas has one, too.....DH's parents and grandparents are LONG gone, so I have no idea who had one in his family. No one I know of had them in mine, either.

My husband and I don't have any, my little brother has one, my parents don't and my grandmoother does. My DD have one on the back of her head and her neck. I think it's just random!!

I had one on the back of my neck which disappeared when I was young
my dd has one on her neck and the ped said usually by the time they are 3-4 they fade and disappear.
