Re: Anyone have issues with grinding/clenching teeth?
years ago i clenched, i guess i still do a bit but not so bad. they did a mold of my mouth and made me this thing to put over my teeth to prevent clenching. we called it my "toof" bc it looked like i had one giant big tooth. ask about an insert. sorry dont remember what they called it.

Re: Anyone have issues with grinding/clenching teeth?
i would def see another dentist. i have tmj since a kid and broken mannny teeth in my sleep due to grinding. i HAVE to wear a mouth guard..... there are some at drugstores that arent perfect..but you might want to try them while you are waiting to see another doc so you dont keep breakng/chipping your teeth.
i think the advil is for inflammation...but actually you need a muscle relaxer.....but they never helped me.
ig you get a cheapy one in the meantime...get the soft flexible ones that dont actually cover all your teeth.... i got one for 25 bucks when i accidently lost my real one lol

Re: Anyone have issues with grinding/clenching teeth?
hellllllllllllllllll no that answer is wrong!!!!!! there are medications for tmj that i guess releaxes u so u do not clench. My husband wears a night guard n it was like too late coming. he had some freak thing wrong with his jaw n he needed like thousands and thousands of work done because he ground them to bits. My son also grinds and has chipped teeth. You can get a cheap one from cvs until u can get a professional one. i would also go to a e.n.t to make sure your sinuses r ok in case u r clenching your teeth because of unknown sinus issues. Go to a new dentist immed. any damage to your teeth the repair would b considered cosmetic 90% of the time. they just do not care. My husband went to a amazing place in massapequ if u want me to get the #. Another thing., who wants this to esculate where u wind up with horrific migranes because u clenched all night? I feel your pain, sorry n good luck n let me know if u need any #'s/

Re: Anyone have issues with grinding/clenching teeth?
You need to get a night guard. I had the same issue and have chips all over my back teeth. I even cracked a tooth once and it was so badly damaged I had to have it extracted! I blame it on the clenching at night.
The night guard has worked wonders- I get less headaches too.
I got mine at the drugstore but you can have one custom fit at the dentist- it's pricey though and my insuracne did not cover it.
