Re: What are you doing with drugs in case of power outage?

Im just ensuring I have plenty of ice and ice packs. If power goes out I will make a very quick swap from freezer and put the ice near meds in the fridge. As long as you keep the fridge closed things will stay cold for abt 12 hrs. Not sure what happens if its a long outage..I guess call the pharm for instructions. I don't know if sealed meds have to be refrigerated or if the refrigerator just extends the meds life.

Not sure what meds you have, but most meds are fine unrefrigerated. They just will not last as long. I believe they'd only be good for 3 months not in the refrigerator. Your pharmacy can answer this.

But worst case, if you lose power, maybe you can just find a friend who still has power and just borrow some space in her fridge.

If it's gonal, it can be out of the fridge for 3 months before it goes bad (but then you can no longer go by the expiration date on the box)

eta: this brings back memories of hurricane Irene! Good looking into this before the storm hits... For me it was just too late!
