I have the opposite problem. Nobody in my family gets along, so Dh's family always gets us for the holidays...or we do our own thing. It is kind of sad, but now we have a house of our own, so I want to start new traditions.

MY DH's parents are divorced and it does make things hard. Its hard enough splitting time between 2 families no less 3. What we are doing is rotating Thanksgiving and Easter each year, Christmas Eve we have with his dad, Christmas brunch with his mom, and my parents for Christmasand New Years Day dinner. I hate not having the holidays with my family, but that comes with being married. Good luck!

It is tough with DH and myself too! I hate running around and it feels like you don't spend time with anyone. We break Thanksgiving at his family and Easter at mine...We split X-mas eve and day too! They should make a thanksgiving eve too

totally agree - tell your inlaws that these are your plans an thats it - my sil started this last year bc with 3 kids it got crazy and it works out great for them! Good Luck

I feel your pain!
One year we actually didn't even get to have turkey because we were too busy running around trying to accomodate everyone else. We left his parents after appetizers because we had to go to my family's - then by the time we got to my family's house they were done with dinner and eating dessert.

That is all it is - aggravation. I feel like my husband and I (and 4 kids) are too busy pleasing everybody else when it is out holiday too. And then if you don't accomodate them, you get the attitude and the cold shoulder.

Kristina, I thought you were living MY life for a second!!!!!!
First,  I am very sorry and definitely feel your pain.
I was satying home by myself last year up until a few days before Thanksgiving, that's how bad it gets.
Everyone, my mom especially, counts every second that we spend with ILs and it drives me nuts!!!!
I threaten to go on vacation every year just so I don't have to deal with it!!!
I really feel bad that you're in this situation, it is sooooo stressful....

I had the same issue.....went to MIL's for Christmas dinner, was supposed to eat a little there and then a little at my mom's.
MIL's dinner was late, as usual, so I left and by the time I got to my mom's, they were done!!!! Needless to say, I was very upset.....

Get on a plane to some place warm -- screw em all. Maybe in the future they will stop pulling you in so many directions.
We jsut tell our families what we are doing and that is that. They have no say in it.
