:-( pity party time!
i'm just so DONE being positive about this! my situation is a little bit different, becasue my IF is due to a genetic "thing' that i was born with. i only have one X chromosome, when women are supposed to have 2. part of this is that i have no ovaries. therefore, no eggs... therefore IVF isn't an option. using donor eggs isn't an option either because they don't even recommend women with this getting pregnant because of possible other health risks. so that leaves adoption. fine. great. good. BUT because of all the celebs adopting lately, everybody and their mom wants to adopt, too... so the wait times are getting longer and longer and most of the countries you have to wait until your 30 to even start the process. thats 2 years for now for me, then i'd have to wait another 2-3 AFTER that just to get the baby! i don't want to wait that long!!! i'm sorry to vent, i'm just getting very frustrated and its so hard, as you know, when it seems like everyone around you ( including some people who shouldn't ) is getting pregnant! thanks for reading!

Re: :-( pity party time!
I am so sorry to learn of your situation. There are times when we all want to yell, scream, cry, rant and give up.
The over 30 thing is absurd. There are places where children are sleeping on dirt floors and don't know where their next meal is coming from, but because you aren't 30 you can't proceed with foreign adoption? Some things will never make sense to me.

I'm so sorry you have to go through this. IF s u c k s and whats worse is the adoption policies. Have you considered fostering? I know alot of people tend to stay away from fostering because there is a possibility the child can be taken back but I think you can request to have a baby that has little or no family interest...sad. FM me I have family that works for ACS. Good Luck!

I am so sorry about this. Have you thought about a surrogate with donor eggs and your DH's sperm? GL

I was thinking the same thing. Is there anyone you know who would do this for you?

Re: :-( pity party time!
so sorry for u. life can be very challenging sometimes. but but but.... dont forget all the positive things in your life. when i get carried away w/ not having a baby or anything else i DONT have, I literally have to stop myself and think of how lucky I am for the things I do have. hey, just think how extra beautiful the nursery will be cause you can take as much time as you need setting it up. It'll all work out in time. Hang in there

Re: :-( pity party time!
i just checked this again! thanks for all the hugs!! and suggestions! i have thought about a surrogate, like one of my friends or my sister. but, they are all young and just married or engaged, and don't have their own children yet. so i just couldn't ask them for their first pregnancy to be for me. i may look into using a surrogacy "company", but i've heard thats super expensive, even more than adoption! plus, if we use DHs sperm and somebody elses egg ( i dno't have any of my own eggs), then i just feel like i might always look at it as DHs kid with somebody else, ya know? at least with adoption it would be neither of our bio kids... i think we'll probably end up adopting, and just starting our family later than we wanted to.... thanks again for all the hugs! this board is great for this kind of stuff!
