I'd like Christopher to be in school by next fall. I would say after he turns 2, but like Madison, they are late Spring, so I am guessing the fall would be the first time.

The type of program, I have no idea thoChat Icon

We're hoping to send Jayden to Nate's daycare when he turns 2 in March/April. It's accredited by Chicago Public Schools and they've done a great job with Nate.

Re: 07 mommies (Toddler not in school)

i put DD in school the fall she was turning 2 (sept 07) i sent her once a week for 1 1/2 hours...

im planning to do the same for DS...he will be 2yrs old, Nov of this year, thank god he met the dec 1 cut off by 2 weeks!

i will see how he is...i may put him in for 2 days. i put DD in for only 1 day because DS was a newborn, i didnt want to commit all winter to have to drive her with him in the car, and taking him out in bad weather.

i feel it was a good age to put DD in because it helped with seperation anxiety and got DD used to being with other adults and the "school" environment. (we were always around other kids in playgroup so interacting with other kids she was already doing) it helped her to be a little more independant and feel more confidant being with other kids and adults without me there...
i found an inexpensive preschool (not a daycare based school) near me that had a 2 year old program that the child is not required to be potty trained.

Re: 07 mommies (Toddler not in school)

I would like to start her now, but I can't seem to find an 18 month old program for a couple of days a week for a couple of hours. Other than the Temple down the road. So next fall when she is 2.5 for a couple of hours a couple of days a week.

daycare centers will accomodate for DD but if your looking for a preschool based more private school, for only a few hours (like 2 hours or so) then your better off waiting until DD is 2.5

i used to work at a daycare and taught preschool there...i had kids in my class that only came 3 days a week for a few hours. it was an 8-3 day and most centers want you to sign up for at least 3 days

Re: 07 mommies (Toddler not in school)

When the babies are turning 3, they will go to an all day 3s program at a Catholic School in my neighborhood.

I only have to stress about another 1.5 years of child care! LOL....

It will cost me about 1,200 a month in preschool as 3,200 in day care!

The city is insane!

Dd is a March 07 baby. In Sept she is registered for one morning a week for 2 1/2 hours. I can do twice a week, but I am not sure if I will hold off until January for that.

Re: 07 mommies (Toddler not in school)

DD will likely start right after she turns 3. The school I want to enroll her in enrolls them at 2 years 10 months, but that would be next April/May, and I think I'll just wait for the end of the school year and start her that September.
