1 month old getting fussy
my baby is 1 month today. All of sudden he's getting fussy. He used to eat and go right back to bed at night and now he just cries for an hour after eating and nothing soothes him. He sometimes calms down when we hold him, other times it doesn't do anything for him. Is there something else I can try? I believe hes too little to cry it out. He doesn't seem gassy or hungry or need a changing. Its only really at night this happens.

You DC is soooo young.. this is what they do unfortunately!!! Especially at night.. it's called the witching hour. Mine lasted about 2 hours though. Just try walking around bouncing your DC..swaddling...rocking..anything..but really this is just what a newborn does. Maybe a pacifier will help!!
Trust me.. I thought I would die but DS is 16 weeks and I actually forget about those days sometimes!! Should get better around 8-12 weeks.
(of course..keep an eye on him though..could be gas.. put him on the changing table and move his legs like a bike and see if he lets anything out)
Good luck and hang in there. this too shall pass!!
ETA: way too young to cio..some say 6 months until you should do that.

I know.. I had a really difficult time getting thru it with your hormones going crazy and lack of sleep it can get very depressing.. just know that it will end soon (if there is no medical issue) and you are doing great. Just comfort your DC as much as possible. remember you CANNOT spoil an infant.. so whatever it takes...stroller rides..car rides..baths..in mommy's arms...it's all ok!!

Re: 1 month old getting fussy
Charlie just started doing this as well. She is 3 weeks old. I never had a fussy baby so its all new to me but man is it frustrating! She does it during the day as well. It's hard because I NEED the time in between her feedings when she should be sleeping to do things with the other kids. My daughter is getting an attitude about it too. We're just doing our best to work thru it and DH usually helps out a lot when he's home.

Re: 1 month old getting fussy
DS is 5 weeks old and while he normally is a very calm baby, we have been dealing with something similar the last few days. He has been more fussier than normal and is happens a lot at night. Last night was really bad and nothing helped! He finally fell asleep after we wheeled around our apartment in his stroller! The only thing that I think may be bothering DS is that he is due to go #2 so he may be a little constipated - but i'm not sure. I am hoping this is temporary and passes soon for both of us!
