4/5 month old so fussy when eating?
Gabrielle is going to be 5 months this month. For the last month or so, she is such a PAIN to bottle feed during the day. I literally have to hold both of her hands down w/ one hand and feed her w/ the other b/c she is CONSTANTLY batting the bottle out of her mouth. It takes her about 40 mins to drink 4 oz. If I put the bottle in front of her she attempts to grab it and force it back in her mouth - once in her mouth it all starts again. I feed her 4 oz every 3 hours. Is this just a stage or could it be that she is not hungry b/c she began eating cereal w/ fruit??
TIA

I have the same problem with my dd who is 4 months old... She is soooo fidgety on the bottle and constantly knocking it out of her mouth... I'm with you bottles went from taking 15 min to almost 40 min, its so annoying! We are supposed to start cereal this month and I'm thinking its going to get even worse because she will be less hungry... I did notice a slight improvement when I went from the level 1 to the level 2 nipples on bottles, I think she wasnt getting satisfied by the level 1 anymore. Even with the nipple change whenever a bottle goes quickly I'm so thankful because it never happens anymore

aahhh!! good tip about the changing the nipple. hopefully it will go down so quickly she won't have time to bat it out of her mouth 50 times!! LOL. thanks!

Tommy is very fidgety now too, I recently changed the nipples to a faster flow bc he was taking forever so that has helped, but I think he is SO interested in the world around him that it is more fun to look at stuff than drink the bottle!

emma does this now at 6 months!!!! they are getting more and more curious and more like, 'what's going on there'?, etc...
try the nipple switch - if that doesn't work - try feeding her in a calming, soothing, quiet environment, no tv, no sound, no stimulation at all!

I was going to say nipple switch too...my DD is 4months and uses a level 3 nipple (Dr. Brown's)
She also stops though once in awhile, not moving the bottle but just drinking to look at stuff going on around here....she's SUPER aware now!
