10 DAYS
I have 10 days left of my old career before I start my new career as a NURSE!!! I'm so excited. I'm not even sad about leaving my job of 6 years. Doesn't that tell you something!!! WOOO HOOO..

I'm working at NUMC. I did my clinicals there so I'll actually be on the same floor with all the same nurses.

It's telemetry/surgery but I'll be primarily on the telemetry side (cardiac.)

Are you a fellow nurse? I eventually want to be in SICU because my rotation was the best there but I know I need to do some floor service before going to a special unit.

Tele is great! Enjoy your time there, and after a few months look out for an SICU job. These hospitals often tell you that you need "years" of experience before you go to a specialty unit, but they tell people that just so that they can fill the floors. Get your feet wet and then go for what you want! Good luck!! BTW, I know they are looking for SICU in my hospital if you are interested. Wishing you the best of luck with your new career as a nurse....such a rewarding profession.....and you are at a great hospital as well. I did clinical roations there as well when I went to nursing school...however my job profession took a slight turn and I'm teaching right now in a daycare as a Pre-School teacher...looking to eventually get back into the nursing field...I know financially I would be so much better off. Any ways, good luck to you and enjoy every minute of it

I worked in tele as a PCA during school. I am starting in oncology - not something I pictured myself doing at first but I am very excited.
I loved the SICU there too when I did my clinicals.

I thought of Oncology also but in Good Samaritan is where I would do it. Maybe in a few years.
