10 month old and suddenly not STTN. Help!

The last week or a little more Mason is getting up once or twice in the middle of the night crying. Either DH or I will go in and he's crying standing in his crib. The moment you pick him up he falls back to sleep.

Any advise why this is happening?
Should we let him cry? Chat Icon

He's been teething for weeks now. Do you think that's it?

Help... I miss my boy that would sleep 11 to 12 hours! Chat Icon

probably teething. I would try motrin before bed, hylands teething tabs or orajel.

Could be teething, an ear infection (DD had one 2 weeks ago and was waking at night but no other symptoms - no fever, no runny nose, no pulling on the ear etc). Could also be a growth spurt or when they start doing some new milestones it isn't rare to wake at night (per my ped).

Could be that he is getting into the standing position and doesn't know how to sit down so he is crying for help.

He knows how to get down now. The first couple of times he did it he didn't know how to get down. Now he does.

He gets hysterical... I feel so bad, but it's been going on every night for almost 2 weeks now

Ryan is 8 months and he just started to do this too. I had him checked for an ear infection and that wasn't it. I think he is teething, so that may be it, or he just wakes up and he really didn't want to. I'll hear him scream , but it's usually just for a minute. The hardest part is keeping DH from running in there... lol. Usually within a minute or 2 he settles down. Anything more than that, then I usually go in to make sure he is ok.

My DD started doing this around 12 months old when all her teeth were beginning to break through. It went on for a few months while her molars were coming in. Now that the 4 molars have broken through, she is sleeping better. Good luck!!Chat Icon
