11 month old suddenly dropped 2 feedings...Help?
My DD is 11 months old. I am EBF. Until a few days ago, I nursed her in the am and pm, and she drank 2 6oz bottles of BM at daycare. She eats 3 meals a day also, and snacks. She is really tiny...just a little over 16 pounds. Her ped isn't concerned; she's just a peanut.
In the last few days, she has rejected the nighttime feeding before bed. As soon as I lay her in my arms, she starts crying and trying to sit up. I tried a bottle and sippy cup..no good. I put her to sleep; she slept all night.
Now, her daycare sitter told me she hasn't been wanting the 3pm bottle. Sure enough, I tried to nurse her/give bottle/give sippy cup today at 3 and she rejected it, too.
Is it normal to drop from 4 to 2 feedings of BM at once? If she wasn't so tiny, I might not get so worried...her dr office is closed so I thought I'd see if someone would know here.
Thanks!

I don't BF, but a few things came to mind reading your post....
I know you said that your DD was trying to "sit up"....With my DD (and DS) it often was an early indicator of an ear infection so you may want to rule that out...That could explain not wanting to lie down and resisting drinking ....
Also, could she be too tired to feed? Maybe change up her feeding times a bit and see if that helps?
Also, teething could be contributing...
Good luck

So he just dropped them suddenly too? DD is willing to nurse when she first wakes up...today, when she rejected BF at 11am, I fed her the milk in a bottle with her sitting up (I was sitting in back of her) and she grabbed onto the bottle, letting me tilt it up. I think my baby's not a little baby anymore

First, to be safe, I'd call the ped. Even though it'd probably just be to check for an ear infection. But I'm thinking it's actually teething. DS did that ONCE. Threw us off because it wasn't his first tooth and he hadn't done it with other teeth. We took him to the ped, to the GI...just teething. The dr said some teeth just hurt kids more than others for whatever reason. This one tooth was when he was younger so he wasn't eating many "meals" yet, mostly bottles. But he went from 25 oz a day to 9 oz!!! And it was all normal. It lasted about a week or so til the tooth broke through.

Same here. We were done with bottles by 12 months. Plus around that age he was drinking with his meal, not really having a bottle or sippy seperately except one before bed if he wanted which he slowly weaned off.
I would check for an ear infection but she may just not want the extra feedings.
