Has anyone elses 20 month old suddenly started waking up all night? Please help..

He always has bad nights here and there when he teethes...and I can see his eye teeth (canines) are coming in.

HOWEVER...we've been through 5 nights of torture and he is not sick!!! He waked us at 10pm, midnight, 2am and then sleeps till about 6am.

He is whiney and miserable all morning as well. I feel like I'm going to LOSE IT. I don't know when to expect this to get better, because right now it's awful and feels neverending. I actually lay in bed with a nauseous feeling knowing he will start screaming any second.

And he primarily is laying down and crying and crying until it turns into screaming. We've tried ignoring it but he will not go back out on his own. Motrin is not doing the trick whereas in the past it has...

Any advice/help...or anyone been through this??

Marron was doing the same thing at around 22 months. I ended up bringing her to the ped b/c she seemed to have a "cold". Sure enough, it was the eye teeth. The ped said they are the worst. Once they were in, she went back to being our night-sleeping angel again. Hang in there! Chat Icon

Lance did this at around 12 months, he has been getting his teeth very early. It lasted about 2 months, now he is back on sched. pretty much. It is probably his teeth (eye teeth and molars are really bad), although it could also be the therapy. Lance has been a little off with naps and sleep ever since he started.
Hope he starts sleeping for you soon! Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon

Also try the gentle naturals teething drops with the motrin, they really worked for us.
