If he is other wise acting OK..aside from the fever I wouldnt worry...
If the motrin brings it down and he is his usual self..aside from a little lack of appetite..Im going to have to say that it could be Roseola.
Roseola?????
Roseola (also known as sixth disease, exanthem subitum, and roseola infantum) is a viral illness in young children, most commonly affecting those between the ages of 6 months and 2 years. It is typically marked by several days of high fever, followed by a distinctive rash just as the fever breaks.
Signs and Symptoms A child with roseola typically develops a mild upper respiratory illness, followed by a high fever (often over 103° Fahrenheit, or 39.5° Celsius) for up to a week. During this time, the child may appear fussy or irritable and may have a decreased appetite and swollen lymph nodes (glands) in the neck.
The high fever often ends abruptly, and at about the same time a pinkish-red flat or raised rash appears on the child's trunk and spreads over the body. The rash's spots blanch (turn white) when you touch them, and individual spots may have a lighter "halo" around them. The rash usually spreads to the neck, face, arms, and legs.
I couldnt have said it better myself...kids dont always get the rash though.

Re: 102.0 fever !!!!
Just keep checking on him. Keep up with the tylenol/motrin. Call Ped in morning. Yes, my ped also said anything above 102 is not teeth. Also like another post if he wants more to eat you will know it. You know when you don't feel good you don't want to eat either. Hope he sleeps well.
BTW FM if you need anything.

Re: 102.0 fever !!!!
My son has roseola. He had the fever for 3 days, and then the fever broke, and he woke up with the rash. With the fever, he was very irritable, and had a very poor appetite...plus, hes had diarrea for 13 days...usually 2x a day. I am not sure if this is tied to the roseola.

Re: 102.0 fever !!!!
aww how is Ethan feeling today? I hope that he is getting the fever only because of the tooth and nothing else.
Logan has a fever as well for the past 3 days, but when I've checked it has only gone as high as 101.7. His cuspid tooth is coming in he is sooo cranky/crying...
Hope everyone is ok....

From what I understand it's not something that is like that....Coxsackies is normally a warm weather thing so that's why we've been seeing so much of it...Roseola isnt as contagious as Coxsackie either...

Re: 102.0 fever !!!! UPDATE 8/18/08
Heather,
He has Roseola. The rash should start to fade in a day or 2. It might look like it is getting worse before it gets better. It doesnt itch or bother them in any way. The areas on his body where he got the rash first is where it will start to fade first. They can also have puffy eyelids...
This is all normal. He's going to be fine...
