12 Month Blood Work

I finally took my son for his 12-month bloodwork...at 15 months, lol. I was so nervous about taking him and I couldn't really figure out how they would even get the needle in his arm and then getting him to stay still. So I kept putting it off. We took him this morning and while he did cry, it was only briefly and it was done in a matter of minutes. The lab we took him to was great and they knew how to hold him and told us the best way to hold him too.

I am soo relieved that it's over with and my DS did fine. Just thought I would share!

I had a similar experience. I waited until almost 14 months and had no trouble at all. I was so glad. I was afraid it would be a total nightmare!

Glad your appt went well too!

Glad it went well. I also postponed for a couple of months for DS1. Realized it was nothing. A good lab does it well and fast. For DS2 I did it on time b.c I knew it wasn't a big deal. The main reason they cry is b.c you have to hold their arm and babies don't like being held down and not know what's going on. As soon as its done they are fine.

I totally felt the same way! I really only forced myself to go because I have his 15 month checkup next week and I knew his pediatrician would yell at me for not taking him, lol. We went to a NSLIJ lab that his doc recommended on Stewart Ave in Garden City. I can get the exact name/address if you need when I go home tonight.
