14 months and our first diaper rash...
So DS is 14 months and has been having a lot of messy diapers lately. I am thinking it may be from his teething. Not sure.
Anyway, he currently has his very first diaper rash and his little bum is soooo red. It is so bad that he won't get in the bath tub because he knows it is going to hurt him.
For the BTDT moms, how do you deal with a bad diaper rash? We use the Desitin, but I am not sure what else I should be doing. Any advice is greatly appreciated!

other than a creme with zinc ozide, 7th generation diapers can help becuase they let the bum breathe more...
In my limited experience, the best thing is just to change him super-frequently....

Thankfully we have never experienced serious diaper rash. But I have heard going diaperless really helps air it out and relieve some pain. Not sure how to prevent an accident though.
For future reference, I put Aquaphor on DS's bum each diaper change. Not sure if it really does anything but I always feel like preventative maintenance never hurt anyone

Kristina tends to get used to the creams really fast, so I have been alternating the Triple Paste and the Butt Paste.... I'll put one on in the AM, and the other on in the evening, and A&D (only when she doesn't have a rash - if she does, I continue alternating throughout the day), and PLEASE make sure to change frequently!
The teething is def an assistant to the diaper rash.... it's what brings Kristina's on almost EVERY SINGLE TIME!

Aquaphor worked amazing on DD"s diaper rash
ETA: I also bought the aveeno soaking treatment (i think thats what it was called) to use but never got a chance to use it since the aquaphor worked but that might help
