15 monthold Brushing teeth! How well are they really brushed????
Its' a struggle to get him to brush his teeth,,,,well...let me brush his teeth. I have an elmo brush(not that he cares actually) and it's a fight every time i try to get in his mouth.. I BARELY get to brush the teeth...especially the top teeth!!!then I just let him play with it and he bites it..
How well are your toddlers teeth brushed and should i be worried that his teeth will rot!!!!

I fully expect all of Luca's teeth to fall out by age 3 He just won't let me brush them anymore - even if I hold him down he clenches his jaw shut. I give him toothpaste on a toothbrush, let him do it, and hope for the best. IMO it's better than nothing.

I tell her if she wants to watch a movie, she has to let mommy brush her teeth, otherwise, NO MOVIE. She will usually open up then - for about 5-10 seconds. I go as fast as I can for those 5-10 seconds!!!!

Re: 15 monthold Brushing teeth! How well are they really brushed????
the only think that kinda works for us is for me to brush my teeth at the same time. He thinks it's hysterical for some reason (I make faces and noises). I give him his toothbrush and he chews on it and while he's distracted by me being silly, I quickly grab and move his brush around. He'll usually cooperate for 5-10 seconds, but as long as I do that a few times, I feel like it's ok.

My DD is 18 months and sucks all the toothpaste off and then bites the toothbrush
I try and show her with my own toothbrush when I brush what I'm doing....and sometimes sing that yo gabba gabba song "brush brush brush"
That's all I've got

Re: 15 monthold Brushing teeth! How well are they really brushed????
he used to do it himself... pretty much suck on it. Now he won't take it at all. He really doesn't get threats either. I tell him to brush his teeth or no story time b4 bed. He just rushes past me and points to the armoire where the books are and says "Open" or in his case "Opa"
Now I do it after his bath and snuggle time on our bed b4 books and bed. I bring it into the bedroom while he watches TV. Sometimes he does it and sometimes I just do it. I know when I do it then he gets a better brushing and he's not happy
