16-17 week appt. tomorrow

At 14 weeks I posted about how I was very pizzed that my doc never told me/offered me the NT scan... it was very important to me to find out if something was wrong with the baby early on. Needless to say it was to late for me to have the NT scan.

Tomorrow I will be about 17 weeks along and I want to know is there anything specific done at this appt? I want to educate myself as much as possible so I dont miss anything esle. I know from my pregnancy book I can have something called the triple screen at this point, yes?

Any other input would be helpful. Thank you so much ladies.

P.S. Is it possible to find out the sex tomorrow?

I didn't get a sono at that appointment so I didn't find out the sexes... if you have a sono its possible!
I just peed in a cup, checked weight and BP, and my midwife listened to the HBs.
I have to go give blood for the triple screen anytime between 16-18 weeks. You should ask about it at your appointment.

at my 16 week appt they took blood to test to see if the baby has a high risk of getting any birth defects like spina bifida

I had a regular appointment at 16 weeks (bp, weight, baby's heartbeat ect...) but my doctor gave me the paper work to go to the lab at 17 weeks to get a blood test for the triple screen. After that was my Level II at 20 weeks.

I asked at my dr at 17w for a sono because dh couldnt come with me to level II. (are you going to do level II??)
I had asked the nurses and they all said that they didnt think so...and i asked them to ask --they were making it like it was a huge deal. the dr was like ok when i heard them ask. not a big deal to her.
we couldnt see if it was a boy or girl the cord was between the legs. the drs guess was 60%boy but we are having a girl.

My last appointment on Wednesday had me at 15 weeks. I just pee-ed in the cup, took blook pressure and weight, baby heartbeat and had a mini meeting with the doc. I had some questions about cramping pain and headaches (which she said were both normal). Also, she gave me papers for more bloodwork; this time they will be looking for spina bifida sign. She said that this has to be done between 16-18 weeks. No sono this time which I was kinda upset about but she said it would be too early and she wouldn't want to guess the sex. So that will be done at my next appointment after 4 weeks which will put me at 19 weeks.

I had no sono until 20 weeks.
The 16 or 17 week appt for me was just the usual pee in a cup, blood pressure, weight, the heart beat and I was on my way.

I will definitely be asking her about the triple screen blood test. She always takes blood in her office... so I'm guessing she will take this blood test in her office as well?

I'll be taking a triple screen at 15 weeks.
Did the 1st trimester screen already.
