1st appointment
SOmeone told me that they heard that at the first appt, everyone gets an internal sono just to make sure things are ok. Is this true? If so, I would like to have my DH there. I will be 5 weeks when I go. Thanks!

My dr's office only does med history, and an internal exam at the 1st appointments.
They shedule the 1st sono for 8 weeks.
Alot of times you cant get a heartbeat at 5 weeks and it makes people worry.

At 5 weeks I only had a consultation with my doctor and she gave me vitamins & lab sheets for blood work - no exam. A sono is scheduled for 8 weeks. From what I have read here, every doctor is very different.

Do you think I can call my doc and ask. Because if they are going to do a sono, my DH wants to be there...

I would definity call - I think you should be able to call your doctor (or office) for anything you need to while you're pregnant. They are used to it and a good office will be patient and understanding.

I would. I didn't get a sono till 8 weeks also, but I have heard plenty of girls say they got it before

It sounds like everywhere is different, but I did have an internal at my first appointment, and I was 6 weeks.
