1st Bday Party Dilemma - WWYD?
I am having DS's 1st B-day party at our house.
The problem is, the restaurant I wanted to cater it is CLOSED on Sundays. Party is on a Sunday. They said a lot of people will order food and pick it up on Saturday and store it for a Sunday Party.
Would you do this? The food is Italian if that matters. I was thinking Chicken Parm, Baked Ziti, Eggplant Parm, and Sausage and Peppers. Side Salad and Greens and Beans.
Or would you go with your #2 choice, not as good, but still pretty good food.

I'd probably order from the second place, only b/c if you are paying money for food, it should be fresh, you know?
Sorry

ITA! Plus, that would be a lot of fridge space to store it and oven space to heat it too...and time to do it all!

I picked #1. My neighbore is a caterer and he always makes the dishes the day before parties and then they need to be reheated in the sterno's . I never had any issues with it.
ETA: I have never heard of a company that makes the food the same day as your party and is delivering them to your house.

I've had the food the day before and heated it. If you tell them they prepare it diferently and give you the directions.

EXACTLY! So if she goes with her #1 choice the food will be TWO days old, instead of one.

I forgot that the party was on a Sunday, but I still don't think it's a big deal.
To the OP, if you go with the second choice how are they bringing the food to you? If it is cold, chances are it was prepared in advance.

My BIL owns an italian restaurant and always makes his party order the day of.
To answer the OP - Id go with #2, just bc its less to worry about.

I feel the same way.....If I am paying somebody to cook I want my stuff ready to put out and hot....If I wanted to heat it up myself I would just cook it myself....I know a few good places open for Sundays FM if you want....
