1st Birthday planning!!
So I don't know what I should do..We are having a back yard party
I keep going back and forth for over a month..
Should I go with the
Abby Cadabby theme w/elmo incoporated in.
Garden themed..with flowers and butterflies, dragonfly, bees..
Does anyone have any good ideas for each theme?? Please share any ideas because it may help me decide

Well, I'm doing "sock monkey" for DS but not going hog wild on a full on theme as much as using red, baby blue and chocolate brown as my colors. The cake will have to do with sock monkey as will his outfit, a DIY happy birthday banner and his sock monkey collection tucked here and there. So my plates and napkins and such will be generic solid colors so if there are any left over, we can use them for other events.
So if it were me, I'd chose the garden party as anything you buy can be saved and used for other parties.

I'm going to think of some cute ideas for you and I'll post some in a few, but I REALLy like the garden theme idea. Super cute for a girl's 1st bday and you can do so much with it (especially if you're doing an outdoor party).

I love the idea of the butterfly / garden theme. I think we are doing Mickey Mouse Clubhouse for DS's 1st, but it's only because that's the only character he will sit and watch.

i am using the color scheme hot pink and lime green and throwing cupcakes here and there. mini cupcakes with toppers, a custom banner with a cupcake in the middle

We are doing Rubber Ducky...yellow plates, cups, etc. maybe blue tablecloths.
I may have some ducky related games - but since most of the kids are small, probably just a few toys for them to play with.
I'm only having cupcakes, no cake...haven't figured that out 100% but am working on some kind of Rubber Duck cupcake.
And we are BBQing....

My friend is doing the garden theme. She is doing watering cans and rakes as favors, a big flower cake, and stuff like that. It is so cute!

I love the garden theme for your backyard. So many possiblities for cuteness!
We picked the character each daughter responded most to for their first birthdays but I was torn between what we did and a cupcake or butterfly theme. If I had a backyard I would love to do a garden party!
