Need help from BTDT 1st Birthday Party Planning Moms
I am in the beginning stages of thought, but I am looking for some input on cost.
We decided to do it at our church and just for coffee/cake to reduce costs.
BUT, after all is said and done for paperware, invites, decorations, cake, coffee, favors, etc. what kind of cost may I still be looking at?
Any help is appreciated! 
p.s. Paulette and Jodi, any ideas yet?

I'm surprised that $500-600 is in the lead so far for invites, party paper goods a cake and favors! Yikes!! If you are on a budget, you can get great favors and papergoods at Dollar Tree. They aren't like a typical disorganized dollar store. They have great stuff and if you need a lot of one thing, they will special order it for you.

Ways to save money: Get plain plates & napkins. I know everyone loves a theme but, why pay more then double the cost just to have someone on it. You can make the cake & a balloon have your theme. As for invites make them. People will enjoy the party no matter how much or little you spend.

I like summers idea about the dollar tree. There is a nicer one on sunrise hwy in patchogue by chuckee cheese...(plus we can do a playdate )
Okay, so I was thinking big but then I was reading Marissas idea about mygym and wanted to check that out. My idea was originally a restaurant and some clowns (looking at 1,000?) When I check out my gym if I think its good for a 1st bday (which I dont know yet) Marissa said its like 400...if I remember correctly.

I did DS 1st in the backyard
I rented tents, tables, chairs, and I got a waitress (which cost 150- and totally worth every penny)
With food, drinks, paper goods, balloons, and favors- the party cost 1k
(and I was a bargain shopper- got the cheapest price I could for everything)
I paid about 500 for the rentals and waitress- therefore the other things cost me the other 500...

WOW - I am totally surprised, I put the $500 on the poll but didn't think it would reach that.
