1st cycle of clomid

I am on CD 9 (about to take my last pill tonight). I have been doing alot of reading up on here and i see that a lot of girls are talking about going tor IUI and trigger shots around O time. My Dr. hasnt mentioned anything about that to me at all...am i going to have to do that also? And if so, what is that all about? Im slowly learning about all of this info, but as of now i only know about clomid-now am i going to have to do that other stuff too right away? Also- I have my sono for CD13, but i am hearing that may be too late. Should I change it? AHH!! Im so confused.....someone help.

Hi Meghan:

You can do a cycle of clomid with timed intercourse or you can do a cycle of clomid with a trigger and an IUI. If this is your first round of clomid your doctor probably figures to do timed intercourse. If you are worried about CD13 being late you can use OPK's that you get at the drugstore. They will help let you know if you are close to ovulating.

I did clomid with IUI because my DH SA wasnt the greatest. We got pregnant first time!! so good luck!! I had a sono done 1 week after finishing last pill of clomid and got a positive opk on CD13 at 430 pm. my doctor told me to have sex the thursday after my sono and then every other day untill i got a positive reading then everyday. Whether you need to use the trigger shot or not depends on WHY you're on the Clomid...are you anovulatory? Do you ovulate, but with irregular cycles?

Clomid 100 and the HCG shot was my magic combination on the first try--I would definitely call your RE to find out if the trigger shot is part of the plan.

Also, if you're CD9--are you scheduled for a sono on Monday? You're supposed to be monitored very closely while taking Clomid.

ETA: Sorry, just read that you're being monitored on CD13. You should definitely call and change it to CD11--on CD11 I was VERY close, but wasn't a go until CD12...but if I had waited till CD13, I would have missed it!

thanks so much. I am definitely going to call to change my appt. I have started tracking with an opk but so far nothing. I am on clomid because i do not ovulate...so i am hoping that this works! Thanks again!
