1st Floor Master?

I am looking at some listings our realtor sent us-- and there is an amazing house, but the master is on the first floor.

Middle of the night wake ups with a baby and going up and down the stairs come to mind in one of the inconveniences... but, anyone have this and like it? Pros? Cons?

Re: 1st Floor Master?

we just saw a house like this the other day, and I hated it bc of that fact..not even at the baby stage, but even as she gets older..I hate that I'm not close by that she would be upstairs and I'm downstairs, in case of an emergency g-d forbid it just doesn't sit well with me...

Re: 1st Floor Master?

I don't have kids yet, but we're looking for houses with all BR's on one floor because of this. I don't think I'd ever be comfortable with my kids on another floor. (Not until they were 25!!)

Re: 1st Floor Master?

We have an expanded ranch.

2 bedrooms and 2 baths on the main floor (Master b/r and DD's room).

2 bedrooms and bath on the upper level.

I guess if we were only having one child, then that would be a deal breaker for me.

With that said, DC#2 will be going in one of the bedrooms upstairs as I refuse to uproot DD from her surroundings.

We didn't consider any house that had bedrooms on different floors b/c of DC.

Re: 1st Floor Master?

Not a fan of first floor master bedrooms, I like all bedrooms on one floor.
