1st grade girls social question?
Is your dd having play dates? My dd hasn't had one or been invited to one at all this school year. I'm a bit tired of initiating. I've tried twice but honestly I work full time and have a 3 year old so it's hard getting home at almost 5. Weekends are really religion class and family stuff. She does get invites to bdays. I'm just upset b/c he talks about so and so going to so and so's house. And one mom even said her daughter always wants play dates but I think caught herself b/c her dd has not asked for one with my dd. she was like I'm sure you'll be getting a text from me soon. I just was like, oh, no worries. We're busy with the extra curricular stuff and its hard b/c I get home late. Am I over thinking these dumb play dates?

1st grade girls social question?
Your family sounds pretty busy so I wouldnt worry so much about it. If parents are nit getting back to you then they are either too busy also or not into it. My D plays with my friends kids when we gtg..not sure uf that's considered a playdate. Its annoying when someone suggests playdates but never follows through.

Re: 1st grade girls social question?
I think this is common. My DS is 6 and he plays with the boys in the neighborhood. We have play dates with our friends kids but not as much with kids from school. He does have about 7 boys not including himself that all live within 2 blocks of us so they all just play together. But it is really informal. Everyone just knocks on each other's door. A parent will walk with the kid and invite someone over.

Re: 1st grade girls social question?
DS is in 2nd grade and this is the first year that he's made a good friend that he has play dates with every other week or so. I was worried about it too, but it didn't bother him and things kind if fell into place. I wouldn't stress over it too much.
