1st mother's day - what is everyone doing? BTDT moms - what did you do?
Just wondering what we are going to do - its my choice - I was thinking a picnic at Planting Fields....

I was still in pain from DD's birth, all I wanted for mother's day was Friendly's Reese's PB Cup sundae. DH and I ate ice cream and rented a movie-a quiet night at home.
This mom's day, I get to sit through my 5th Quinnipiac University Graduation watching my DH graduate AGain, along with my brother and some close friends. Fun!
ETA: A picnic sounds wonderful! With some warm weather, memories to be made :)

Well its a little easier for me my DD is 8 mths old, we are having a BBQ with the Godmother and Grandparents, nieces and nephews. I hope it will be a nice day out.

I am going out to lunch with my dd,dh and some family members. It will be nice as my mom will be here so I wil be able to share mothers day with her. She lives in europe so we normally dont spend mothers day together and its celebrated in march over there so she is making out like a bandit this year getting to celebrate twice

Wow it is just meant for you to have the most amazing Mothers day. To have 2 so close to that day!
Alyssa is the 12th, this year its the day before Mothers day.

I'm hoping to get to sleep in a little bit (DH will probably get up with DD so I can sleep til 8ish) & go out to brunch. Then we'll probably check out more neighborhoods (we're figuring out where we want to look for houses and know nothing about the suburbs here in Chicago.)

Well it has become a ritual with my inlaws that the whole family goes bowling.. My mom comes too so it is a lot of fun

Nothing really special planned. DH wants to take me to dinner, but I have no one to babysit, so we'll prob just be doing things around the house..and planting outside.
I told DH not to buy me anything. I dont want anything.
ETA: Cant take Jacob to any restaurants b/c he is in a horrible phase where he wont sit in the highchair, starts screaming and crying and throwing food/plates/silverware on the floor... (Ahhh let those terrible 2's start early...)

We usually do the same thing every year. We go to the cemetery to plant flowers at my Parents & Grandparents graves. Then we figure something nice to do & then have dinner. Nothing is ever really planned. And as long as I'm with my kids I don't care where I am really.

It is DH's 30th B-day too so we will be doing a lot.
I am sort of mad that I have to share my 1st Mother's Day with him
We are going out to Brunch with my parents and then will meet up with his family later and then have cake for his birthday.

Breakfast with my inlaws.
Dinner with my parents. It's also their 35 year Anniversary on Sunday.
Im so excited to celebrate my 1st Mother's Day.
Maybe in between breakfast and dinner we will go for a nice long walk somewhere.

I'm hosting it here.  I stupidly started having a brunch at my house 2 years ago, and now I have to do it on my first Mother's Day. I'm super pizzed off about it. I even mentioned to my ILs that I would like to go out and they gave me a hard time. Can you believe because of all this pressure I'm under, I'm not even looking forward to it. I would have much rathered to go out to eat and have people serve me, instead of me serving 14 people.
