Re: 1st time c-section moms....
I too had a C-section b/c after my water breaking more than 24 hours b4 & not progressing past 7 cm it wasn't going to happen...turns out she was not centered right either (her head was against my bladder).
I asked my dr. about VBAC & she said depending on baby's position, etc she'd be willing to try it, however, she said it may be out of her hands b/c w/ all the malpractice suits they may make it impossible to do VBAC's in NY in the near future

Re: 1st time c-section moms....
Although I planned on natural, unmedicated childbirth, my experience with my c-section was just wonderful, it really was, so I would definitely opt for another c-section rather than take the risk. I'm too squeamish to think about the remote possibility of the risks associated with VBAC

I don't know. Recovery from a c-section was really rough but I also have a fear of the unknown. I would love to be able to do it "naturally" but not sure.

Re: 1st time c-section moms....
I had a c/s for my first and my practice was very supportive for a VBAC for my second. They let me go into labor on my own for #2, but I needed the c/s anyway.

See, this was pretty much my situation and add about 5 more complications along the way. I definitely want to try for a VBAC next time. I hate the thought of "scheduling" my DC's birthday. But that's just me... don't flame me! I would love to have my water break and THEN if need be, go for another c/s. Like many others, I guess depending on the circumstances (position, dilation, etc.) it may or may not happen the 2nd time around.

I would like to try to have a vaginal, only because of the complications I h ad during my unplanned c-section. I'm scared to death.

Re: 1st time c-section moms....
Hmmm I really have mixed feelings - I would love to have delivered vaginally as that was what I tried for my first - but she failed to desend - she turned face up last minute, she was 9 lbs 4oz (at 38.4 weeks) she passed merconium, my contractions were not as strong as they should have been, and I was dialating like a 1/2 a cm every two hours and never past 8cm - which is why I ended up with a c-section after about 21-22 hours of labor.
Honestly I am a little scared to VBAC - after having a lot of cases at my job involving VBACs I am apprehensive to say the least. I think I had a good recovery from the section that I really feel that I am okay with just having another section. It is a very personal decision and you really have to weigh the pros and cons of whether it is right for you.

Re: 1st time c-section moms....
If I have more I definately would opt for the c-section. I had a great experience with the surgery and recovery.
