2 questions
1. I am really frustrated this week. I have been at the gym EVERY day this week AND have been eating great on WW! I lowered my salt intake too b/c I thought I might be retaining water. I have A LOT of weight to lose but the scale hasn't budged! I have weighed my self every day (which I know is bad but I am getting obsessive) I am so frustrated - its lilke all this hard work is ridiculous. Any thoughts? Here is what I ate yesterday and this has been pretty much every day. My only thought is too much carbs but this is even WAY less than I used to eat.
Morning - thomas bagel thin with 1 tbsp of light butter 1 cup pineapple
morning snack - apple with tbsp of peanut butter
Afternoon - 3 oz of chicken on a martin's whole wheat sandwich roll. Applesauce
Afternoon snack - peppers with 2 tbsp sourcream dip
Dinner - 5 oz ground turkey sauce 1 cup of smart taste pasta green beans
2. Can anyone recommend a VERY beginner Zumba class? I am VERY out of shape but it looks like so much fun. I would like one that I can learn the steps b/c I took one a while ago and felt like an A$$! I don't want to take it at my gym yet! I am in Nassau and willing to go anywhere.

Re: 2 questions
IMO you need more protein, you're getting way too little.

Agreed. I don't follow WW so I don't know your points or anything but even in just looking at your breakfast I see only carbs. I know fruit and veggies are 0 points but they still have calories mainly from carbohydrates and need to be factored in (IMO.) I would swap out either the bagel thin or the pineapple and add soemthng with protein--maybe an egg white omelette? I would also try something like oatmeal instead of the bagel thin.
Also, right in the morning agian you are having another piece of fruit with very little protein. (Yes the PB has some but still not a ton...which is alright for a snack but since you aren't really taking in much anywhere else, I would try to up that.)
I would try to have more balanced meals throughout the day. Also, make sure you are eating enough.

Re: 2 questions
agree with above posters.
Eggs are great for breakfast.
Can you replace that chicken sandwich at lunch with a big salad with grilled chicken?
hummus is also a good healthy snack.
greek yogurt too.

Re: 2 questions
I realized I ate too much carbs after I typed this out. I love carbs lol i could go to jail and only eat buttered bread and i would be so happy. Hence why I am the way I am today. I do have some eggs in the morning usually one egg and two egg whites with low fat Swiss cheese. I tried Greek yogurt for the first time today and liked it so I will add that. Don't Love Hummus. Thank you for the suggestions!

Re: 2 questions
I agree with the PPs also. I would use more veggies as fillers and add more lean protien (fish, chicken) and switch out the carbs. If you must have a carb, have it before 2pm. Its one of teh rules n the 17 day diet and i feel it works.
It might also be that you need a few extra calories. Even though I try to stick to 1200 calories, I find I lose weight when I get to 1300 calories. Also, are you drinking the 8 glasses of water. I always find the water was key..

Re: 2 questions
Re: the Zumba class... I used to go to the Rhythm and Soul dance studio in Levittown. It's right off of Hempstead Tpke, just east of the Wantagh Pkwy (I think it's on Wolcott Rd). The classes were fun -- great music, and a dance-focus. When I used to go, there were people of all ages and fitness levels doing the class, so it was a non-intimidating environment for a beginner. They have classes during the week as well as weekends, so lots of options. You can go as a walk-in and pay per class (I think it was like $14/class) or you can buy a 6 class pass to get a discount, but I think you have to use all 6 classes within the month. I am thinking about starting up again.
With the food, I would think about adding more food. Do you eat your "weekly points"? I always find that if I have a day or a meal that I indulge a bit more, I lose more than if I eat the same calories every day. Also, I think it helps to shake up your food a bit when you hit a plateu...a lot of us tend to rely on the same standbys, but mixing it up by incorporating new foods, changing the times of day you eat or the quantities (eat a bigger breakfast and smaller lunch, or eat 6 small meals versus 3 big), can help a lot.

Re: 2 questions
Also, I don't buy into not eating carbs after anytime. I prioritize my carbs (including fruits and veggies..) around my workouts and where I need the energy in my day. If i stopped eating carbs at 2, I wouldn't be able to do half of the things I do on a daily basis. Will I eat a loaf of bread right befor bed? No of course not, but there is no reason to follow rules like that in my opinion.

totally agree with this!
I also priortize my carbs, but I also found that after changing my eating habits after a while I was craving the carbs anymore like I used to.

That place I can actually walk to! Thanks.

Re: 2 questions
Thanks ladies - I am going to do the chobani yogurt for breakfast in the morning with a fruit probably or an egg omlette
For lunch I will definitely incorporate salads more. They are just such a pain to make every day and sandwiches are portable since we have been at the beach/pool every day for lunch!

Re: 2 questions
I used to think making salads was a pain too, but once you get into the hang of it, it takes JUST as much time as making a sandwich!
I buy a big thing of prewashed mesclun greens, used to be that some of it would go to waste, but now I just eat more salad when I'm hungry and I don't let it go to waste!
I also make a very hearty salad with a variety of colors (walnuts, avocado, blue cheese, radishes, peppers, tomatoes, cucumbers, zucchini, carrots, steamed beets, broccoli, etc) and include protein so it fills me up for a while. Chop up some of the veggies early in the week so they are ready to throw in.
Get a large round tupperware and tiny one for dressing so you can pack it and bring it to the pool!
