2 Smiley's 3 days apart...so confused
Ok so I got my first Smiley on Thursday, we  Thurs and Fri. I decided to keep testing bc my cycle is irregular.
Opk was neg Fri and Sat, but now I just got another smiley today 3 days later?!
What could this mean, I'm so confused!

positive opk's only really show a surge in lh - meaning you're gearing up to O. could be that you had a surge, but never O'd, and now it's detecting another surge. what cd are u on now and how does this compare to when you usually O? i'd continue to test until you get a negative, and continue to to be safe

same thing happened to me this month. I have no idea why either. Someone on here said that it may have been the beginning and the end of the surge.

Honestly I am a very very irregular person! Sometimes I get AF twice in a month, sometimes once. I get ovarian cysts, I was told a few years ago I have PCOS but since I came off BC they told me my blood work is normal. So Idk what the heck is going on. So frustrating!

Did it really? So strange, does the LH only peak in the beginning and the end? It's weird bc I would think the days in between would show positives too

Is this the 1st month you've used opk's? If not and it's never happened before, i wouldnt worry too much, could be a fluke. If it happens again though maybe talk to your Dr about doing bloodwork just to make sure youre O'ing. I did that last year 1st bc i NEVER got a positive on an opk so i got worried. Turned out all was ok - opks arent perfect!

if you have PCOS smileys dont mean much since one of the most common symptoms of PCOS is elevated LH that doesn't signify ovulation. OPKs test for an LH rise prior to O but if your LH is high due to PCOS you will get multiple positives that aren't followed by ovulation. that kept happening to me so i eventually saw my OB and after being offered clomid, immediately saw an RE and never looked back.

Thank you for your advice, which RE do you go to if you don't mind me asking? I'm going to start doing some research and find one in my area.

6 years ago a diff OB diagnosed me w/ pcos through bloodwork, I was put right back on BC and that was that up until now.
I was convinced I still have it, however, my OB keeps telling me my bloodwork is normal and every time they do a sonogram they say my ovaries look normal and don't look like pcos ovaries.
My periods are still irregular though, however when I was diagnosed w/ pcos my periods stopped all together. I've been still getting them the past few months just very irratically(twice a month sometimes). So idk what to think
I have lost 30 pounds since I was diagnosed 6 years ago and am at a very healthy weight right now. Maybe that contributed to it? I have no idea

Do I need a special thermometer or can I use the regular digital one I already have?

Thank you for your advice, which RE do you go to if you don't mind me asking? I'm going to start doing some research and find one in my area.
i saw Dr. Braverman. it took a year of treatment and i finally conceived my DD from my first IVF cycle. we did many medicated cycles before IVF, all were either BFN or chemical pregnancies. my DD is now 9m old!
the thing with PCOS is that if you have wacky LH (the symptom which leads to false + OPKs) it could also effect your testosterone levels and your egg quality. it's mostly treatable with the right protocol. some have it easy and just need clomid or femara to jump start regular ovulation, but my LH and androgens were very high, along with several other related issues that dr. B uncovered, so my path to baby took longer.
also PCOS does not just go away. if you were dx through bloodwork with an OB, chances are that now that you are off the pill, your hormone levels will become wacky again even if they seem fine now. the only thing that sometimes "cures" PCOS is pregnancy. because pregnancy shifts hormones so much, some ladies end up with "normal" cycles again after a pregnancy. im still waiting to see if that happens with me, but some of my PCOS symptoms have come back (acne particularly) so I am not holding my breath that I'm "over" PCOS!!
